Connor McDavid Becoming An Oilers' Legend
EDMONTON -- Legends don't come around every day.
At this point in his career, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid is entering legendary status. Or he's at least putting together a convincing argument for being in that category.
He tallied the game's only goal in the Oilers' win against the Los Angeles Kings. That goal was his 72nd game-winner. McDavid is now tied with Glenn Anderson for the most game-winning goals in Oilers history.
That's not the only record he's breaking down the doors to.
McDavid currently has 1041 points with the Oilers. He ranks third on the all-time points list. The only two Oilers who have scored more points than him are Jari Kurri and some guy named Wayne Gretzky.
Connor McDavid could pass Kurri for second on the Oilers' all-time points list tonight against the Minnesota Wild.

Kurri only has 1043 points. McDavid would need two points to tie with Kurri and three to surpass him. That is certainly a doable feat for the phenom.
Getting to Gretzky's level is another story.
"The Great One" racked up 1669 points during his tenure with the Oilers. Needless to say, that's more points than most players accumulate in their entire career.
Corey Perry has played 1353 career games and has yet to hit 1000 points. Sidney Crosby has scored 1644 points in his career. Kurri himself only produced 1398 over his 18-year playing career.
McDavid has a chance to eclipse all of those players. Now is the time to sit back and watch the legend work.
