Connor Bedard’s Point Streak At 7 Games; Blackhawks Lose To Rangers 6-2
CHICAGO - The Chicago Blackhawks started strong once again. It feels like a movie that’s been on repeat since the beginning of October. The opening face-off drops and they look like one of the best teams in the league.
This time, it was just after the five-minute mark of the first period when Connor Bedard took a puck from New York Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad before making a perfect pass to Tyler Bertuzzi who didn’t miss at the net mouth.

With the assist on Tyler Bertuzzi's goal, Connor Bedard now has a point in seven straight games. That streak takes him back to before the Christmas break.
That is now career point number 96 for Bedard who is chasing down Eddie Olczyk's record for points in a season by a teenager (129).
The New York Rangers then scored five unanswered goals before the second period ended. Once again, the Hawks were being blown out.
They showed a little sign of life when Frank Nazar made a brilliant high-effort play to find Wyatt Kaiser who finally scored his first NHL goal. The defensive defenseman isn’t here to score a ton but everyone wants that proverbial first goal.

Kaiser was happy to score his first but it was overshadowed by the fact that the Hawks were beaten badly again.
That 5-2 stood through the second intermission. It looked like the Blackhawks would have a chance to make it interesting in the final frame until Filip Chytil scored his second of the game at 8:36 of the third.
Once it was 6-2, it felt impossible for the struggling Blackhawks. Of course, that stood as the final.

This is the third time in four games that the Blackhawks were blown out. Their most recent game, a win over the Montreal Canadiens, wasn't enough to get them back on track.
It is not going to get any easier from here either. A lot of star power is coming through Chicago this week as they have the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday and the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. In between, they will have the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caeser's Arena on Friday night.
