Connor Bedard Passes Blackhawks Legend on Teenage Goals List

The Chicago Blackhawks might have lost to the Calgary Flames, but the team has shown the ability to score more since Anders Sorensen took over as head coach. This has freed Connor Bedard up to be more of an offensive threat that everyone thought he could be. The latest game included one goal and three points by the 19-year-old.

With that goal, Bedard hit 30 goals in his NHL career, all as a teenager. He passed Patrick Kane in goals by a teenager for the second most in Blackhawks history, trailing just Eddy Olczyk with 49.

Bedard has 20 more goals to go this season to break that record and he could very well do it. The Blackhawks sophomore has three goals in his last seven games and 10 points in his last eight games, so the offense is starting to ramp up in a big way.

Bedard sits at eight goals on the season and he will set a career high in goals with 23, topping the 22 goals he scored as a rookie last season in 68 games.

It is a great sign for Chicago that Bedard is turning a corner before the halfway mark of the season as there was a little worry that he couldn't be a number one center or bring this team to the playoffs quick enough.

Superstars struggle as well and Bedard appears to be through it. I think there are a lot of people cheering for Bedard to break the goals record by a teenager that is held by Olczyk with a strong finish to the 2024-25 season.
