Confirmed Line-Ups: Manchester City vs Celtic (Pre-Season Friendly)

Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City players turn their pre-season training into match action for the first time on Tuesday night with a meeting against Celtic.

The Premier League champions have been in the United States since Friday whilst putting together their training ground preparations and building match readiness, as well as building group camaraderie with the much-changed personnel in attendance.

Manchester City’s squad is largely made up of Academy talents with the club granting their European Championship stars an extended summer break, while most of those players will play no part in the United States tour at all.

Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic are the only other first-team players outside of the initial travelling squad expected in the USA, with the Croatian duo said to be joining the side in New York ahead of the meeting with AC Milan at the Yankee Stadium.

Tuesday night’s meeting with Celtic will be the first clash between the sides since their UEFA Champions League group stage meeting of 2016, as Pep Guardiola embarked on his first season as Manchester City manager.

A thrilling 3-3 draw away from home at Celtic Park was followed up by a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium, as Manchester City scored four goals from four players no longer with the club in Fernandinho, Raheem Sterling, Nolito, and Kelechi Iheanacho.
