Manchester City take on Juventus on matchday six of the UEFA Champions League’s league phase on Wednesday night desperate to get back to winning ways.

Pep Guardiola and his players find themselves languishing towards the bottom end of the last-16 play-off places after succumbing to a heavy 4-1 defeat away to Sporting CP last month before throwing away a three-goal lead at home to Feyenoord to draw 3-3.

The trip to Juventus precedes a difficult away visit to Paris Saint-Germain on the penultimate matchday of the league phase and in the new year, before the final contest for City will come at home to Club Brugge at the end of January.

Juventus find themselves in a similarly challenging run of form in European competition, having drawn their last two games and lost the match prior to then against Aston Villa, Lille and Stuttgart respectively.

Pep Guardiola has been significantly boosted by the returns of Mateo Kovacic and Phil Foden to his travelling squad in Turin this week following an injury and bronchitis respectively over the last few weeks.

Manuel Akanji, John Stones, and Nathan Ake all remain sidelined through injury with the latter expected to be ruled out for weeks, whilst they join the longer-term absentees in Rodri and Oscar Bobb.

Ahead of kick-off at the Allianz Stadium, here is how both Thiago Motta and Pep Guardiola have lined up their respective Juventus and Manchester City sides in UEFA Champions League action!
