Milan coach Sergio Conceicao was reportedly ‘furious’ with Milan over the prospect of losing centre-back Fikayo Tomori to Serie A rivals Juventus during the January transfer window, even though the Bianconeri were prepared to meet the Rossoneri’s demands for the England international.

According to several reports over January, Juventus had been preparing an offer to Milan to sign Tomori on loan with an obligation to buy.

According to reports from Corriere della Sera, Juventus were prepared to pay 5m to sign Tomori on loan for the remainder of the season, with a mandatory buy option set at 25m.

Conceicao ‘furious’ at Tomori to Juventus suggestions

Corriere della Sera claims that Milan directors were not opposed to the move and were prepared to give their green light to the transfer until a meeting with Conceicao this week.

According to Friday’s reports, the coach was ‘furious’ at the suggestion of losing a first-team centre-back to a direct rival in the league, and that he has no intention of letting the former Chelsea centre-half leave.

Though he fell out of favour under Paulo Fonseca during the first portion of the season, Tomori has started all four matches in Conceicao’s tenure, playing alongside Malick Thiaw in all of those matches.

It has been suggested by Corriere della Sera that Milan would prefer to lose Strahinja Pavlovic if they have to sacrifice a first-team defender in the near future.
