The Columbus Blue Jackets Quarter-Century Team

The NHL plans to release their version of the Columbus Blue Jackets Quarter-Century Team on Thursday, so we thought we would guess who we think should be on the first and second teams for Columbus.

The Blue Jackets started their franchise history in October of 2000 when they took the ice for the first time. But this was not the expansion era that you're seeing now where teams come in and are immediately competitive. The Jackets had to scrap and claw for any semblance of good players, as opposed to Vegas and Seattle who were gifted a bunch of players who had been all-stars or could arguably be first and second-liners.

So let's take a look at who we think will be on the NHL's version of the Columbus Blue Jackets Quarter-Century Team.

First Team Forwards

  • Rick Nash - 674 Games Played - 289g-258a-547 Points - 83 PPG - 14 SHG

  • Cam Atkinson - 627 Games Played - 213g-189a-402 Points - 42 PPG - 16 SHG

  • Boone Jenner - 715 Games Played - 192g-172a-364 Points - 41 PPG

First Team Defenseman

  • Zach Werenski - 524 Games Played - 101g-241a-342 Points - 25 PPG

  • Seth Jones - 381 Games Played - 50g-173a-223 Points - 13 PPG

First Team Goalie

  • Sergei Bobrovsky - 374 Games Played - 230-130 Record - 33 Shutouts - 2 Vezinas
