Colorado Avalanche Assign John Ludvig To AHL
The Colorado Avalanche have assigned defenseman John Ludvig to the Colorado Eagles, the team announced Thursday.
Drafted by the Florida Panthers in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Ludvig has split time between the NHL and AHL this season, collecting two assists in eight games for the Avs and one assist in five games for the Eagles.
Joining the Avalanche before the season started, Ludvig spent the majority of the 2023-24 season with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Across 41 career NHL regular season games, Ludvig has put up three goals and seven points.
With Ludvig being assigned to the Eagles, he will be afforded to opportunity to play big minutes and play in high leverage situations. If the Avalanche are dealt with injuries in the near future, expect Ludvig to be on his way back to join the Avs.
