The Week 1 college football schedule continues into Sunday, with the highly anticipated meeting between the No. 23 USC Trojans vs. No. 12 LSU Tigers. This matchup not only raises significant questions for USC coach Lincoln Riley on how to replace quarterback Caleb Williams, but also sets the stage for an exciting and impactful start to the new season.

Miller Moss, a seasoned player who has spent the last three seasons as the USC backup, has been named the starting quarterback for the Trojans in 2024. With 59 pass attempts for 681 yards and seven touchdowns under his belt, Moss is well-prepared to step into the starting role.

LSU will also transition to a new quarterback following the departure of 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels. Garrett Nussmeier, who served as the backup to the 2023 Heisman winner for two seasons, is set to step into the role. Nussmeier demonstrated his capabilities when he filled in for Daniels during the ReliaQuest Bowl, throwing for 395 yards and three touchdowns, completing 31 of 45 passes.

College football is off to a thrilling start, and every game holds big implications in the new College Football Playoff format. This revamped format has the potential to bring a new level of excitement and unpredictability to the season, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
