Cole Kmet on Bears' losing streak: 'It takes a toll on you'
The Chicago Bears have been more about losing and disappointment than they'd like to admit over the past five seasons, and tight end Cole Kmet has been around for all of it. After starting off this season at 4-2, the Bears have lost seven straight games since their bye week, and the toll it's starting to take on the players, especially Kmet, is becoming increasingly obvious.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Kmet shared while the season feels full of doom and gloom, he is preaching perspective on enjoying the time that he does get on the football field. Since 2020, Kmet has seen losing streaks of at least four games in his first five seasons in the NFL.
That includes six games (2020), five games (2021), 10 games (2022), four games (2023) and now seven games (2024).

"I think that's the kind of perspective I want to have going out there for these last four, just enjoy it, being out there with the guys, put some really good stuff out on tape, and just enjoy each other's company while we go do it," Kmet told reporters on Tuesday. "I mean overall, yeah, this process has been tough. It takes a toll on you mentally, you definitely question things about yourself, you've got to fight those things, but it's a hard deal for sure. I just keep the mindset that this type of adversity will only make me stronger going forward.
It's obvious that losing has greatly impacted this team, but for Kmet, the consistency of losing is one thing he'd certainly like to put an end to.
