Colchester sign Stevenage striker Simpson on loan
Colchester United have signed striker Tyreece Simpson on loan from League One side Stevenage until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old moved to Stevenage from Huddersfield Town last summer for an undisclosed fee and has made 19 appearances in the first half of the campaign.
Simpson, who has also had loan spells at Swindon Town and Northampton Town, is expected to be in the squad for the League Two game at Harrogate Town on Tuesday.
Head coach Danny Cowley told the club website: "When he's played at this level before he's scored goals regularly and he's such a handful.
"I like his physicality, I like his power and pace - and he's got technical quality as well. Most of all, I like his mentality. He's come from a rugby background, could have been a rugby professional."
