Coaching staffs announced for NL and AL 2024 All-Star Futures Game

The MLB has announced coaches for the 2024 All-Star Futures Game which will be managed by Texas Rangers legends Adrian Beltre and Micahel Young.

The Futures games feature standout minor league players from teams in the American and National leagues competing and there will be an MLB Futures Skills Showcase after the game. The skills showcase a brand new event, a hitting competition featuring three rounds of challenges between players in the Futures game.

The rosters will be led by standout MLB players such as Prince Fielder (hitting coach), Nelson Cruz (third base coach), Ian Kinsler (bench coach), Mark Texiara (bench coach) and Dereck Holland (bullpen coach) among others.

The entire coaching roster is listed below.

NL Coaches:

Michael Young, manager

Ian Kinsler, bench coach

Mark Teixeira, hitting coach

Darren Oliver, pitching coach

Colby Lewis, bullpen coach

Gary Matthews Jr., first base coach

Vernon Wells, coach

Gabe Alvarez, third base coach

AL Coaches:

Adiran Beltré, manager

Raul Ibañez, bench coach

Prince Fielder, hitting coach

Nelson Cruz, third base coach

Francisco Cordero, pitching coach

Derek Holland, bullpen coach

Mitch Moreland, first base coach

Elvis Andrus, coach

Kenny Holmberg, Minor League coach

The Futures game began in 1999 with a United States vs. the World format but since 2019 has transitioned to an AL vs NL format with the National League going 2-1-1.

Fans can watch the seven-inning Futures game at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 at Globe Life Field.
