CM: Three sales for two signings – Milan’s plan for a busy January
AC Milan remain convinced by the idea of going for Marcus Rashford and they are hopeful that two sales will bring in the required funds.
As Calciomercato.com report this morning, Milan are preparing to say goodbye to Noah Okafor who will sign for RB Leipzig today. The formula is a loan with an option to buy set at €25m, and he will free up a spot for the big target, which is Rashford.
CEO Giorgio Furlani is trying to work on two other early exits in January to have that extra budget to sign both Rashford and a central midfielder, starting with Luka Romero who may be a forgotten man to many.
Romero is on loan with an option to buy (set at €7m) at Deportivo Alaves. However, the Argentine is not getting much playing time, so much so that the Basque club are also considering ending the loan early.
It is a solution that Milan are also considering because for a few days they have been in negotiations with the Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara, ready to immediately pay the €7m to get him permanently. What is missing is the green light from the winger.

Then, Furlani is thinking of bringing forward the sale of Alexis Saelemaekers. Clearly the Belgian deserves a broader reflection and there will be a discussion with Sergio Conceição, but if a significant offer of around €20m were to arrive it would be very tempting.
A meeting with Saelemaekers’ agent and representatives of Roma is expected soon in which the future will become clearer, and then we could see Rashford plus a midfielder arrive before the month is done.
