CM.it: Okafor wanted in Premier League but exchange with Lille possible
Noah Okafor has had a strange presence at AC Milan this season, and you can also factor in last season, and it seems there may be interest to give him a proper place elsewhere.
When the Swiss winger was bought, there were no expectations for him to displace Rafael Leao, but quite the opposite. When needed, he would be available to offer Leao a rest, whilst also offering valuable contributions from the bench.
So in some ways, you could suggest last season was a somewhat success. Okafor had a decent run of aiding Milan in late parts of games when they needed saving, and he was given an occasional start here and there.
Since then, though, things have not been as straightforward. Paulo Fonseca’s spat with Leao saw the winger earn some starting minutes and whilst he had a few nice moments, the rest of the season has offered him little.
For this reason, there is a possibility that the parties split. As Calciomercato.it reports the Rossoneri would consider any suitable offers of more than €15-20 million, and interest is certainly present in the youngster.
From the Premier League, Fulham, Nottingham Forest and West Ham appreciate the player, and Tottenham Hotspur could restart their interest should he become available.
The biggest club of interest though, would be Lille. Ligue 1 could be a league where Okafor excels, and with the report suggesting a swap move would be more probable than an exchange of fees given the existing relationship, it could be an ideal move for all parties.
Tiago Santos, Edon Zhegrova and Ayyoub Bouaddi are all appreciated by the Diavolo, so Okafor could play a valuable part in a potential arrival to the squad if he were to depart.
