The visit of Lecce to San Siro tonight will give AC Milan’s directors a first-hand look at Patrick Dorgu, a player that has reportedly been on their wish list for some time.

As Calciomercato.com report, there are a number of different sub-plots to Friday night’s game such as the fact that Lecce are likely to have Ante Rebic leading the line, a player who spent multiple years at Milan and remains a close friend of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Zlatan will also be watching Dorgu because he has been in Geoffrey Moncada’s database for months. The 20-year-old is a ‘real obsession’ of the French director who had already tried to bring him to Milan last season.

A few months ago, the Danish international played as a left-back and was valued at around €12m which was an acceptable price for a player who would be a deputy to Theo Hernandez, yet now things have changed.

Lecce boss Luca Gotti has changed his role to be on the right side, because the coach wants to exploit the power and speed of the Dane – who has already repaid him with a goal against Parma last week – while keeping Antonino Gallo at left-back.

The Salentini’s director Pantaleo Corvino resisted the temptation to sell Dorgu last summer because he was convinced that he would grow, and he was right. Now the full-back is worth €25m and has a good market in the Premier League, while Milan will have him under ‘special observation’ tonight.
