CM: Milan, Napoli, Juventus and Inter to fight Premier League interest for David
Jonathan David’s contractual situation is favourable for several clubs from the Serie A, Bundesliga and even the Premier League, and this is why AC Milan face an uphill battle for his services.
Last summer, many of Europe’s elite were on the hunt for a new No.9, and the paid market was taking the most interest. However, this summer, the biggest talking point could be the destination of Jonathan David, considering most of Europe’s best will be keeping tabs on him.
The Canadian striker has scored 92 times in 196 games for Lille, and his profile is heavily intriguing. A technical player with capabilities across each forward role, but with the goalscoring record of a ‘traditional’ striker.
With his contract expiring in the summer of 2025, several clubs will look to make a deal with him on a pre-contract basis, and the Italian market is taking a heavy interest.
As Calciomercato.com reports, David is expected to request around €6 million (plus bonuses) per season at his new club, which is €4m increase on his current deal. Whilst this is a heavy price to pay, with no transfer fee required, it could be a tempting amount.
For this reason, Milan, Napoli, Juventus and Inter are all looking at the possibilities of signing the striker, and the Diavolo will be hoping that they can play the Fonseca card in the negotiations.
