CM: Liberali ‘appeals’ for a chance before ‘considering’ moves away from Milan
Mattia Liberali is one of the gems available to AC Milan, but he has struggled to find an opportunity amongst the senior players despite being used heavily in the summer.
During the pre-season tour, Liberali was quite a revelation of Paulo Fonseca, and with impressive performances against some of the best teams in Europe, fans called for him to be given opportunities with the first team.
However, chances have not arrived, and the 17-year-old has not been thrusted into the limelight. Instead, he has had to remain alongside Daniele Bonera’s struggling Futuro side, where he has struggled to adapt to Serie C – a situation in some ways comparable to Francesco Camarda.
Perhaps, because of the chances given to Camarda after his struggles with Futuro, Calciomercato.com reports that Liberali has ‘appealed’ for a chance among the seniors, after imagining that the season would go down a different path.
In an ideal world, he had thought of a shared role between the Futuro squad and the first team, but he has yet to find his footing, so has appealed for a chance with the first team.
This came before he started to ‘consider’ looking away from Milan, and with Atalanta and Fiorentina keeping tabs on the situation, it seems that they could have been ‘alerted’ about a possible move.
