Tijjani Reijnders was the star of the show in AC Milan’s win over Club Brugge with his match-winning brace, and a renewal could soon be on the cards.

As Calciomercato.com recall, the two goals that Reijnders scored were his first in the Champions League and the feeling is that it could be a starting point. In addition to being tactically and technically fundamental, the impression has always been that the Dutchman can add more goals to his game.

The love story between Milan and Reijnders though is going swimmingly. The entire club from the management to the coaching staff admire him for his quality but also his extraordinary willingness to work, which he has shown since day one.

In recent days, an initial exploratory contract has taken place between CEO Giorgio Furlani and the 26-year-old’s agent to begin setting up negotiations for the renewal of his contract. His current deal expires in 2028 so there is no urgency, but rather a desire to show recognition.

The dialogue is likely to intensify in the early part of next year and both sides plan on reaching an agreement. On the economic aspect there ‘should be no problems’: Reijnders currently receives a salary of €1.6m and the management seem willing to double that.
