CM: The ‘dream’ and the commissions – Milan still lead Man Utd in Zirkzee race

CM: The ‘dream’ and the commissions – Milan still lead Man Utd in Zirkzee race

There continues to be conflicting reports regarding Joshua Zirkzee, and the latest one has claimed that AC Milan are actually still the favourites to land him.

Calciomercato.com confirm that Manchester United have officially launched their mission for Zirzkee. After days of internal evaluations, the Red Devils board has authorised coach Erik Ten Hag to speak directly with Kia Joorabchian, the agent of the striker.

Milan now have a serious competitor for their number one target and United’s concrete entry into the race risks further extending the timeframe for Milan, who are now waiting to understand whether or not the English club are willing to satisfy Joorabchian’s request of €15m in commissions.

At the moment we are still in the early stages of the negotiation, but United have tried to understand what the Dutchman’s intentions are. This is why Milan still maintains an advantage having already agreed the terms of Joshua’s contract (€4m net per season for five years) and received preference.

However, Zirkzee is definitely not in a hurry, focused only on the European Championships with the Netherlands. He asked Joorabchian to postpone the final decision until the end of the Oranje’s adventure in Germany.

Zirkzee still hopes to fulfil his dream of wearing the Milan shirt but has not closed the door to Manchester United, at least for now. The Devil is in his destiny, it remains to be seen whether it will be that of Milan or Manchester United.
