Clubs must 'pay price' to sign Whittaker - Muslic
Plymouth Argyle head coach Miron Muslic has said Morgan Whittaker will remain with his side unless someone pays the club's valuation of him.
Burnley - who face Argyle on Wednesday - have made a new bid worth £5m plus add-ons for the highly-rated forward, 24.
The Clarets, who are aiming to make an immediate return to the Premier League, had two bids turned down before the end of the summer transfer window.
Whittaker has been the subject of interest for a year, with Argyle turning down a bid from Italian giants Lazio in January 2024.
Whittaker moved to Plymouth for a then-club record fee of £1m from Swansea City in the summer of 2023, having impressed on loan at Home Park in the first half of the previous season.
He has scored 24 goals in 72 appearances since his permanent move, his most recent being the winner in Argyle's FA Cup third-round win at Premier League side Brentford earlier this month.
"Morgan is offensively our best player, our strongest player, and he's a target naturally in January," Muslic told BBC Sport.
"But he's still an Argyle player, he's still under contract here so for us he's available and selectable and he has a value as a player.
"I think if other clubs want to grab him and to take him, I think they have to pay the price for this."
He added: "Until the other team is putting the money on the table that Argyle is demanding, they are all our players and under contract."
