St Tiernach's Park Clones will receive €340,000 from the Irish government for the installation of floodlights.

The Monaghan venue, which hosts the Ulster Senior Championship final every year, was awarded the money through the Community Sports Facilities fund.

It comes as the Irish government announced their largest ever investment in sports facilities across Ireland for clubs and counties.

The lack of floodlights at Clones saw the 2020 Ulster final - which was played in November due to Covid-19 - moved to the Athletic Grounds in Armagh.

Cavan are another Ulster county that will also benefit from the funding, receiving just over €440,000 for the redevelopment of a 3G artificial playing surface.
