The Columbus Blue Jackets, despite having some season-ending injuries, have remained fairly healthy (knock on wood). That means that the Cleveland Monsters have been able to keep the majority of their players, which also means they can showcase just how much talent they have in stock.

The Monsters went on a 10-game winning streak that propelled them to the top of the North Division standings with old pal Pascal Vincent. Rookie Denton Mateychuk is the top scoring defenseman in the AHL as a rookie, which isn't shocking, as the kid seems to have it all.

The nagging question for CBJ fans is when will Mateychuk be called up? Fans shouldn't expect him to be called up this year unless it's a dire emergency. Don Waddell has said many times he wants his young defensemen to develop in the American League before throwing them to the wolves. Don't worry though, the 20-year-old will be a mainstay on the Columbus Blue Line for 15 years.

What's Next - The Blue Jackets are back for a brief three-game home stand starting Tuesday against the Philadelphia Flyers.
