Cleveland Monsters Jet Greaves Named AHL Player Of The Week

Cleveland Monsters goaltender Jet Greaves has been named AHL Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.

Greaves, who signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets as a free agent in 2022, won the honour after posting a record of 3-0-1 to go along with a 0.98 GAA, a .971 SP and a shutout.

A product of Cambridge, Ont., Greaves has split time between the Monsters and the Blue Jackets this season. Through four NHL appearances, Greaves has collected a record of 1-1-2, a GAA of 3.48 and a .890 SP. In 20 appearances for the Monsters, Greaves has a record of 11-5-6, a 2.78 GAA and a .914 SP.

Having begun his stellar week against the Milwaukee Admirals last Monday, Greaves made 33 saves en route to a 4-1 win. He followed that up by posting a shutout against the Grand Rapids Griffins Thursday in a 1-0 shootout loss.

In his final two games of the week against the Toronto Marlies, Greaves made more than 30 saves in both starts, guiding his team to two victories.

As Greaves continues to get better at the pro level, he has made some noise in the Blue Jackets' system. Still only 23, Greaves has a bright future ahead of him.
