Roma manager Claudio Ranieri attended his pre-match press conference ahead of the match against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Italian technician discussed Roma’s mentality and attitude going into the upcoming Europa League fixture.

“When I arrived we were all scared and insecure,” he said. “Now we have to think about doing well in every game and see what we can do by the end of the season.”

On Mario Hermoso’s departure, “Hermoso is a guy I like a lot.”

“When I arrived he was injured. Eventually he got in good shape but he wanted to play and I couldn’t assure him that. I understand he wanted to leave because a player like that deserves to play.”

“Rensch? With his arrival the team can also play with four at the back and change formation throughout the game.”

“All the rumors I hear about Paredes I hear them from the media, not from him. But as I said for Hermoso, I don’t hold anyone back, if anyone wants to leave so be it.”

“Cristante is a rediscovered player, he could replace Paredes if need be but he doesn’t have the same verticality. They are complementary, and I’m happy to have them both with me.”
