In its new report, food banks canada says grades across the country have seen an overall decline. Signalling people in canada are broadly worse off in 2024 compared to 2023 only to provinces. Nova scotia and prince edward island managed to increase their overall grades. Well, the rest of the country remain stagnant or got worse. Manitoba's grade dropped from c minus in 2023 2 d minus in 2024. Our province received a grade of on food insecurity. The report recommends manitoba present a poverty reduction strategy with a focus on single people and indigenous populations and put another 100 million dollars towards middle income housing construction. After years of drought, moisture levels are looking good. And in some cases, even excessive for manitoba farmers. That's according to the province's latest crop report, which says seeding is about 47% complete, which is slightly behind the

five-year average. Notably the interlake region is only at 30% due to recent rains and other regions had to slow or pause seating in the past week because of rain and hail for livestock.
