However, we could not make changes as the flight had already been marked as a no show by the airline partner in the past. We've done stories on families that had to pay almost $1000 to change the name on a ticket. And on a man who was denied boarding a flight because an was missing from his name. And as this is world turtle day conservation is said ducks unlimited canada are hoping that people will think about the importance of this charming animal. Maybe you can just tell us what kinds of turtles to we have here in manitoba. >> Sure, so to 8 freshwater turtle species. But in manitoba, we have 2 species do western painted turtle, which be that typical turley. My see basking on a log, a side of the marsh snapping turtle, which is that lars dinosaur like. Animal that you may said you're fishing dock. For example. >> Snapping turtles are definitely known for their fighting ability. >> Yeah, and having journals that a snap when they're afraid. And so even though it's, it's intimidating, it's their behaviour is basically driven by them being really afraid of getting in by by you as a scary predator and their mind. >> I know that this is turtle nesting season. So I take it that we may see more of them when we're out and about. >> Yeah, exactly. And so late may and early june as the typical time that female turtles make their annual migration to move from there. Wetland aquatic habitats and they they travel over land to put their eggs in a nice safe spot to incubate so they can spend the growing. And so this is a time when cain is typically sea turtles crossing roads and those are often teen males trying to find that nice, not nice spot to lay their eggs in a nice open. Sunny warm spot. >> Turtles are considered to be an at-risk wife. >> All of our turtles are listed as high risk of extinction. And the reason is that basically turtles were designed to live nation the slow and it takes a long time for them to to reach maturity and start laying eggs. The way their populations work. They rely on those adult female turtles, especially living a very long time. And so when we have threats that results in females getting hit by cars. For example, those populations declined very quickly. >> So are humans, they're the biggest threat right now to turtles. >> Yet the 2 biggest threats to turtle populations in canada is the loss of habitat. For example, the draining of wetlands and a loss of other places. They live and direct mortality from them getting hit by cars and other vehicles on roads, especially this time of year when females are moving to later acts. >> So is this something that league we can do to help protect the turtles?
