A convenience store in west broadway has been demolished after raging fire. >> On saturday morning, crews were seen tearing down what was left of young food mart located on yonge street near balmoral street. The blaze broke out around 9:00pm friday and took firefighters more than 2 and a half hours to get the flames under control. One person managed to get out of the building before crews arrived on scene and no injuries were reported. Those who live near the store were temporarily evacuated as a precaution. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Canada's border agency is being evaluated after recent reports show it's tracking program for trust like gun smuggling and human trafficking is outdated. In a report calling for improved training and tools. It provides and important kind of insight into a hidden part of the work of the canada border services agency. An internal review made public this month found insufficient access to intelligence training for officers and analysts calling it one of the major challenges that could pose risks to the agency with new recruits often working 7 months or more without formal intelligence training. Cbsa has been struggling since its creation. You know, this is now 2 decades ago to transform it into what is often called an intelligence led organization. And intelligence expert wesley wark says that's critical because of a growing focus on spotting national security threats, including from the trove of data online that can be open sourced, but isn't always sewn together. The report recommending better technology on that front. It's a combination of taking raw data using artificial intelligence using human analytical capabilities to come up with an intelligence picture. We also want to avoid analytics machine learning just this week, the cbsa underscored that need in its bid to crack down on auto theft and sharpened its watch on what's leaving the country. We're now expanding reprots to look at things are being exported to swell. The cbsa says as a result of this report, it's reviewing its training standards, certifying 12 new instructors at its own training college identifying data gaps and new technology to help and mapping out a new way to measure goals and outcomes. The key message that comes out is that that may intelligence capabilities that cbsa needs are not really out at that point that they, are required to be what the agency didn't attached to its plan is a timeline. And the union representing border workers, which could strike next month, tells me what they really need are another 2 to 3,000 staff for all areas of their work and assurances that new technology will complement workers. >> Not replace them. >> The U.S. ambassador to nato has her doubts about canada's ability to live up to his defence spending commitment. >> I have not had any instance where any canadian official has told me they will not get there, but I don't have any sign that there is a plan in place to get to that 2%. A group of U.S. senators last week wrote a letter calling on canada to live up to its pledge. Defence minister bill blair maintains canada will be a ready and capable nato ally. Red lobster. Canada has asked an ontario court to recognize the restaurant's bankruptcy in the U.S. red lobster filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy last week, which prevents creditors from taking action against the company. The restaurant chain is expected to bring the application to the ontario superior court of justice on tuesday. There are 27 active red lobster restaurants in canada, with most located in ontario. One location is still operating in winnipeg. Search and rescue efforts are happening now in rafah after idf attacks on a refugee camp sunday night. The palestine red crescent along with officials in gaza say 35 people have been killed. They say many women and children are among the dead. The idf says they targeted and killed 2 senior hamas figures in what they're calling a precise air strike. The idf says it will review the killings of civilians. The strike comes 2 days after the international court of justice ordered israel to immediately halt its military operation in rafah, where hundreds of thousands of civilians have been sheltering. Hamas fired rockets towards tel aviv over the weekend. The first long-range attack since january. Those rockets were intercepted by air defence systems. There are no reports of injuries. As you can from our radar, this is the system that we're concerned about, much of southern manitoba has that chance of seeing some rainfall.
