I have to do charlottetown forms. -- short forms. >> Meredith: it's a long show, trace. >> Tracy: we want to talk a little bit about fashion right now. Have you ever come down the stairs and you're about to go somewhere and do something and your mom is like, are you wearing that? And then you start to second guess all your choices? For me it was always my big sister. We want to talk about when you have kids and how much say you should have in their personal style. Because when you think about it, personal style really is a sense of self-expression. So should we really be telling our kids anything when it comes to their outfits? I really grappled with this as a mom. Because not only am I a black mom, I'm a black mom on tv. You know, when you're family is out in public, you probably feel this as well, people know you're meredith shaw, if anyone wants to pick their nose, that reflects on meredith shaw. >> Meredith: I don't know -- >> Tracy: I used to think to myself, you have to be dressed okay. My son was pushing back. My son wore jogging suits for probably five to seven years. And it was janice, meredith, at cityline who said if he's comfy, just get him jogging suits. Have a couple of shorts and t-shirts an n l in the same colour family and he can mix and match to his delight. >> Meredith: yeah. >> Tracy: it was a better way to do things. What do you all think? Let the kids go wild? Wear the rainbow tights and a neon dress? And you're like a fashion girlie? >> Meredith: I mean, I am, but I definitely -- I feel like that relationship that you have with your clothes, with your wardrobe if you want to call it that as a child, the few things that exist in the closet or under your bed. I think having that kind of choice is important. I mean, it's kind of the first thing you get to choose, what you put in your mouth and what you put on your body. That's how you're expressing yourself. I feel like I've been encouraging of the kids and their personal style. I have a blended family, I'm certainly not the only voice in the mix here. But I certainly do some clothing purchases, so if the bad stuff -- >> Tracy: make it easy? >> Meredith: -- one of the best things I ever did when we went on vacation with will in particular, I packed his clothing in outfits. I rolled them up. Underwear, socks, t-shirts, in the thing -- >> Tracy: yes, I do that. >> Meredith: I thought, okay, this works for everybody. Easy for him and he looks good to me [ Laughter ]. >> Tammie: yeah, yeah, yeah. >> Tracy: tam, what about with isla? >> Tammie: isla is three and insists on wearing dresses and thank you -- tutus, from january to december. Just to get out of the house, yeah, sure. Jogging pants, a princess dress on and you're going to look crazy, but it's okay. We'll get out of the house and get where we're going on time. I'm okay with it. Just this past weekend, she will throw on a tutu over everything. I'm okay with what she chooses. When she gets older I may be have to figure out how to do it. The other day I was leaving isla with my mom to go out to a concert, and I was like, okay, mom, see you later. Just heading out. My mom just looked at me and said . . . Oh, is that what you're wearing? >> Devo: [ Laughter ]. >> Meredith: it continues. >> Tammie: the worst thing ever. I was like, oh, no! And I actually went and changed. I had the -- I could not go the way that I was. You know what? Maybe it was a with way that you do it. Maybe that's not the way. But I have kind of given up when it comes to looking crazy fashionable outside of work. Someone chooses these clothes for me and I wear them. Outside of work, I am sid. I wear jogging pants all day. >> Tracy: every day. >> Tammie: yeah, I hear him. Sometimes you're just like, I needed that push to just not give up. >> Tracy: yeah. >> Tammie: it's how you say it. >> Meredith: what's the male perspective in this? >> Devo: do you ever walk down
