The province says the grade 12 english language arts standard test which was supposed to be taken today has now been suspended. The province is siting quote an issue regarding necessary permissions to use the materials within the test. In an email to global news a provincial spokesperson said a reschedule date will be available nest week. No other information was provided. In march the government reinstated grade 10 and 12 exams after the province announced they had planned to revise the provincial exam system. >> Reporter: I'm with platoon chief doug grieve on this working fire. What can you tell us? When did this call come in? >> Crews arrived shortly after 4 A.M. it was evident early that there was smoke coming from the building. Every eve had every smoke. In that case we went defensive. It wasn't safe to enter the structure. We made breeches in the overhead doors to allow smoke to exist. We poured large amounts of water through with master streams and aerial ladders. We tried to get a handle on the fire. >> Reporter: what is this building? It looks like it is a ware house here. It is just off logan avenue. Do you know the name? >> I don't know the name of the business. The ware house structure is used for storage for the retail store which is discounter. They didn't store a lot of goods in there. Most of the fire is just the building material. I think it is heavy timber structure burning. >> Reporter: there was a building bhied? >> It used to be a roller scprink it was converted to a retail store. >> Reporter: any injuries as far as you know. >> No injuries at this time. Fire crews did manage to save the front retail store. They separated that. They got smoke out of the area. Prevent fire extension. >> Reporter: the cause is still under investigation and it is still early, but it has been a very busy night for the crews. This is our fifth fire for tonight. When police announced in december 2022 that jeremy skibicki had been charged with the killing of the unknown woman they were unable to provide many details about her. Other than that they believed that she was indigenous and in her mid 20's. Court has heard that dna found on a jacket believed to glong buffalo woman is the only evidence pointing to her identity and an officer has testified that police continue to investigate tips that might help identify her. Skibicki is charged with second-degree murder for the slayings of four indigenous women. His lawyer says that he should not be criminally responsible because of mental illness >>> Two winnipeggers are facing charges after being caught with a stolen vehicle on saturday after calling police, the victim tracked the stolen suv to a parking lot in the 1500 block of regent avenue. Both suspects fled on foot before cops arrive. They were caught without incident. The male suspect was found to have $1,300 worth of freshly stolen property from nearby stores along with fake ids. 38-year-old man has been detained in custody and charged. A 29-year-old woman was also charged with possession of stolen property and released with a notice to appear. >> Gabrielle: the federal ndp leader stopped in winnipeg in advance of an up coming byelection. The seat has sat empty since march 31st when ndp blaky resigned to work as an adviser to the premier.
