Frank hid in a cooler with some of his neighbours at a mobile home park. >> I grabbed my dog we headed for there and it just -- it was just unbelievable the sound of all of the destruction going on around us. >> Reporter: everyone survived as did dozens of others who packed into a bathroom at a truck stop in valley view that is now torn apart. >> I kid you not, 30 seconds in someone goes get to the bathroom now! >> Reporter: at least 7 people now including two children were killed and dozens hurt in cook county texas. >> They need your prayers and your support. And god willing, we will help them rebuild. >> Reporter: there are storm related deaths in oklahoma where this funnel cloud was spotted. Roofs were torn off homes and vehicles flipped over in claire more and we had a violent weather event. >> Reporter: more deaths were reported. >> The house just started to shake violently. I was like no let's go to the laundry room. >> Reporter: hundreds of thousands lost power and as the system moves east on a busy holiday weekend around 50 million people from georgia to new jersey are under the threat of more severe weather. Cbs news. >> Antony: strong winds and heavy rain pounded the coastal regions in india as a severe cyclone made landfall. >> Antony: millions of people are without electricity after power poles fell and trees were up rooted by gusty winds. Dozens of villages were flooded after a flood protection embankments either washed away or damaged by the storm surge. Nearly 800,000 people were evacuated on sunday. The india -- says the storm is likely to weaken further throughout the day, but worns heavy showers will remain over the next two days.

Hamas has been attacking israel from rafah. >> Reporter: one person in israel was injured seeking shelter from the attack and damage other wise was minor. This house in central israel was damaged by a -- still it was a demonstration that even after seven months of fighting hamas still has significant weapons. Meanwhile, israel allowed around 200 aid trucks through the crossing at gaza's southeastern corner bypassing the main rafah crossing that has been closed for weeks. But some of the food has been waiting so long to cross it is beginning to rot. And on the diplomatic front norway's -- with papers confirming norway's recognition of the state of palestine. >> Reporter: he used the opportunity to repeat calls for an end to the war. >> I think it is time to go behind condemning actions and requesting israel to stop the war in gaza. I think we need to raise the voices a little bit more and demand ceasefire. >> Reporter: but the rocket attack makes a ceasefire much less likely one hard line minister in benjamin netanyahu's cabinet urged the army to hit rafah even harder. Evacuees can return this morning after wildfires forced them to leave. >> The concern for these next couple of days is going to be for the chance of thunderstorms developing in the area. >> Antony: however 250,000 hectare are burning in the bc peace region in the north east part of the province. That includes the parker lake fires burning near saint john. 11 pieces of heavy equipment and 19 helicopters are battling the blaze. Residents have been away since may 10th. The mayor says services in the community have been restored
