The immigration minister marc miller announced a new bill to reverse a 2009 bill preventing canadians born overseas from passing on their citizenship to the children if they were also born abroad. Mackenzie grey has more. >> A new move from ottawa to bring home so-called lost canadians. >> There's no doubt that canadian citizenship is highly valued and recognized around the world. We're -- we want a citizenship to be fair, accessible with clear and transparent rules. >> Currently if someone is born to a canadian outside of the country they couldn't pass on their canadian passport to their child if that child was also born abroad. With the change citizenship could be passed along as long as their parents spent a total of three years in canada before their kid was born or adopted. >> I love you guy. >> That will allow the kids of boston resident catherine burton to become canadian. >> They want to come here, learn the language, they want to go to school here. And I am kind of running out of options at this point now. >> Norman has been travelling back and forth from colddale to the tom baker cancer centre in calgary to receive medications and care, however nothing has helped stop the spread. >> At this point they're not willing to do surgery because of the severity of it. >> We've been getting different answers, brushed off and passed around so to say. I tried to ask and fight for surgery here but I'm hitting a wall but I'm also running out of time >> Despite not have many options norman has made appointments in arizon to meet with medical professions at the mayo clinic however the costs are mounting. Her father has set up a go fund me campaign to try to support his daughter while navigating financial prospect. >> It helps katy to get into the states and get the treatment she deserves and requires her to save her life. Minnesota winning 3-2. What stood out to you this that series? >> I just almost couldn't believe it was that series that went to five games. At the beginning of playoffs people were thinking maybe the boston-montreal semi-final is going to extend to five games. Toronto comes out gets back-to-back shutout wins, which has never been done before. What a way to do it. Set the tone, really take advantage of home ice and then they come back to toronto for game five and really was anyone's game before puck drop. I said to my fellow commentator becky keller, I don't know what to expect in game. We had just seen four straight shutouts so seemed like whatever team scored the other team couldn't. Boom. In first period, a first ever - tie game in that series and came down to minnesota certainly putting their foot on the pedal and going for i. They tied things up with boston for the finals. >> Very successful season for prairie players, saskatchewan, manitoba. Kristin campbell in net, she had quite the season. >> Kristin campbell from brandon, manitoba. What's so impressive about her season, a really difficult start for her. Through the playoffs she of course recorded two shutout wins for her team and that brings her total in this inaugural season to five shutouts. Really impressive when you were it was a shortened season, only 24 regular season game. >> An amazing series for her and season also. Also in the first round it was three-game sweep for boston versus montreal. Also talking about sophie shirley from saskatoon. She continues in the finals with boston. What's sophie looking like? >> Secondary is so important and sophie shirley made herself known in the playoffs. Game one of the series with montreal she has this beautiful shot. In fact, she was initially credited with the goal but then redirected by her teammate agia, also a fellow canadian. She set that bar. She got an assist on the first playoff goal for boston and most importantly her first goal in the playoffs endped up being the first goal for boston in game three. They were down 2-0 and chantal, as everyone know, they went on to win that one in overtime. What a commanding fashion that boston swept that entire serie against montreal. All in overtime! That's got to sting. They even went to three overtime periods in one game. They played a lot of hockey in a short amount of time. >> Well, we'll be watching pwhl boston and minnesota tonight.
