Our caryn ceolin is joining us live now from outside the news conference that's still happening this morning, with more on what this means for canadian basketball fans. And caryn, we're learning this team is not just playing here in toronto. >> Caryn: that is right, tammie. This is as they all her-story in the making. Here in an announcement it was officially announced the city of toronto has been awarded the 14th wnba franchise, the first outside of the U.S. with canada's new expansion team set to hit the court in 2026. So here are a few key details we know. We know the team will play at toronto's coca-cola coliseum, it seats 8700 people, with the opportunity to move up to scotiabank arena on occasion. But as you mentioned, not all games will be played in toronto. There will be the opportunity for some games to be played in vancouver as well as montréal. So very exciting. The team itself will be owned by kilmer sports ventures, that is a division of the group owned by toronto billionaire larry tanenbaum. The wnba's commissioner who is of course on hand for this announcement saying that she has been working with larry tanenbaum were quite sometime now to make this a reality. She says that he has worked very hard to make toronto and canada a destination for women's basketball, and really highlighting the impact paktpact the wnba has had on the city and the country. Of course, the wnba last year sold out pre-season games here at toronto's scotiabank arena. The league itself, the commissioner said just moments ago, had its most watched regular season last year as well as its highest average attendance. So we know for sure that fans are going to be packing the house once toronto's new team hits the court. Now, prime minister justin trudeau, he is also at the announcement. He says that the record-breaking crowds that we saw during the pwhl season are also proof that canada is becoming a destination for women's sports. He says for too long women's sports have been under reported, under funded and underappreciated. But that era all changes today. So, again, the city of toronto being awarded the 14th wnba franchise, this is the first outside of the U.S. some very exciting news. They're going to hit the court in 2026. We're still following that press conference that is underway. We will have all the details online, citynews.ca. >> Tammie: caryn ceolin live outside of hotel x in downtown toronto. Thank you for that. We have former raptor kyle lowry as well as masai ujiri, the president of the raptors and we will have full coverage on citynews.ca. Right now it's 9:9:. Time for "you sound off" and that is the topic of our "you sound off" today. The wnba, how excited are you?
