Many students at this high school in laval said they were sent home yesterday for wearing shorts. >> She said monies were attracted to the boys I didn't understand why. >> He she said you're shortly space for imagination. What I don't comment on a child's body like that? >> Reporter: about 50 students were suspended for the day. The vast majority were girls. >> The teacher was like just for the girls. That would look at the girls legs as if they were sexualizing us. While your shorts are a bit shorter so come with me. >> Reporter: according to the school dress code shorts must be out or just above the knees. In an e-mail sent to parents the school explained the dress code was developed after consultation with consultation with the school community and the rules and share a harmonious atmosphere at the school. It adds, even some school sport team shorts might be in violation if they are worn for everyday use. Many students say this is the first time they have actually seen this policy enforced.
