planning for that. We're currently. >> In the process of creating the feasibility study, we're looking at having a sailing school there, but not just a sailing school, a sailing school that brings in people who traditionally would not be able to learn how to sail. Bringing in the partners who help that happen and then all the other things that go with that were also knee-deep in looking at the interpretive centre. So when the apology was first made in 2010 it was said that that would be the church rebuilt on the land and the interpretive centre. So you know, it's been a long time since we've revisited that that plan. But now we're going back to it and saying what the people really want today, what with that interpretive centre look like how it service community, where would it be? Transportation? >> O look, africville is at the very tip of the north end of halifax. It's very accessible unless you don't have a vehicle can be tough to get an absolutely it. It's if you do not have a vehicle. There is no way to get there. It's well, you can walk, but it's a very dangerous lack of trust. That's right. >> And you know, we've been asking for active transportation for quite some time. We're hoping, you know, one of the things that came up in 2018 is hrm was looking at biking and walking trails. And we said, oh, my gosh, like at the time can you imagine a bike walking trail that would take you from africville to pier 21. And we said, oh, my goodness, like that would be something that I think people would be very excited about. But you absolutely need real transportation to the site. Well, you mentioned pier 21, which of course is right where the cruise ships come in. And we know there are. >> Tens of thousands of visitors and many americans upcoming would be fascinated by africville. Do you see many of them get? >> Get good. Last year was the first time that we a lot of folks from the port because we were actually on site. The port actually gave a with our exhibit down there. And so people heard about or story that came to visit. It's better fact, a group that came from africa town in mobile, alabama. And their story is fascinating. If you haven't seen the film, the descendants, you must watch it. And we're actually bringing the writer of that film here to halifax next month to do a talk about that film and that experience and the the descendants. Yeah. >> Because I know that black cultural centre in cherry brook would certainly like to see russell over there would like to see more opportunities for those cruise ship passengers to make that part of the. >> Absolutely absolutely. >> Again, the if people want to get in involved, if they want at their voice to what might. B at this at this very important spot in in the halifax's or way that they can get look, we're always looking for of so they can always contact us at the museum, if they're talking about museum land >> And of course, they can always contact the night group if they're talking about being part of that particular discussion over the visioning process. And so and those guys will be more than happy to hear from them. >> Africville the black cultural centre, the birchtown, a haredi loyalists centres that it should all be on your list of places to hit the summer when you hit the road, the maritimes for summer vacation up to c s good to see if things are going we'll take a break.
