As derrick shows us, they use the salt of the sea to run their very maritime business. >> Reporter: if you take a drive down route 114, one of the most scenic drives in the province you will see a business owned by a husband and wife team. They are the owners of fundy coast sea salt, between river side albert and alma. >> I have the best office in the world. >> Reporter: he harvests salt from the water. >> It is not rocket science. This is a 2,000-year-old method. Multiple thousand-year-old method. All I have done is adapt it had to the climate year. >> Reporter: loranea makes hand crafted sea soap, and art san sea salt and chocolate. Tourists and the locals seem to love it. Originally from ontario, they moved here from saskatchewan in 2017 after buying this 35 acre property sight unseen. >> Coming here and seeing the trees in new brunswick, and feeling the energy of the province here, I just fell in love with it. >> Reporter: it was always supposed to be a tourist based business, but living in a rural

area makes it more enjoyable. >> You come around the hill or around the bend, and it changes the vibe. You see the bay of fundy as you are coming down the 114. It changes the dynamic of the day. >> When I go to get -- I go three times a week to get water, I am the only one there, I get my water, and I just sit. And watch the world go by. >> Reporter: what a way to make a living. Riverside albert, new brunswick. >> Maria: thank you, derrick. What a way to make a living. >> Kalin: they have something for all of the salty cravings, that's for sure. >> Maria: exactly. Nice weekend behind us. >> Kalin: how about the weather cravings, can we find something in the weather forecast that you want. Today, it was a mix of sun and cloud as we look at this spectacular shot, the island bridge in cape breton. We are seeing cloud cover increase, and we have been into this afternoon and into this evening and tonight. For those looking for wet weather in the forecast you can expect rain and showers on tuesday. A risk of thunderstorms for some areas. More on that, coming up next. She helped me get treatment and she didn't stop until my case settled. And I have been able to return to my art. This is my goal. MacGillivray Law was with me every step. My daughter Norah wanted to understand my new job. For the last 14 years I was an insurance company lawyer. But now I work for MacGillivray Law, a firm that represents people who've been injured in accidents or had their disability claims denied. (Norah didn't quite understand that last part.) She did understand that now I work to help injured people receive justice. I love making sure that people are treated fairly. Norah likes that too. That's why I joined MacGillivray Law. She'll never bend the knee. The greens are coming for you, Rhaenyra, and for your children. (Dramatic music) Otto: It is your great privilege to witness this, a new day for our realm! (Cheering) (Roar) Rhaenyra: We don't choose our destiny. It chooses us. (Upbeat instrumental music) [ Cheering and Applause ] >> Maria: that is a good hustle. That is jacob finishing the final leg for the winning team at this weekend's relay race in cape breton. Jacob happens to be the son of a member of our team here at ctv atlantic, what an amazing accomplishment. Another big winner was the womens team who broke their own record for fastest time by a female team. The relay is of course a 24 hour around the clock event, up and over the mountains of the cape breton high lands. It is amazing. It typically brings in more than 1100 runners and supporters. And $1.7 million in community bump. And mostly great weather to boot. But rain or shine, you have to be tough if you are signing up for this cabbage trail. >> Kalin: listen, the cape

breton highlands, a 24 hour event, you take mostly nice weather every single time. (Laughter) for sure. >> Maria: so true. So true. >> Kalin: let's look at the sunrise and sunset times. Increasing cloudiness for new brunswick. It looks like scattered showers arrived around northern areas of new brunswick. There will be a continued chance of showers in western, northern new brunswick as we make our way through this evening and tonight. As we look at radar, you can see the showers showing up through the lighter greens coming into perth-andover, and edmundston. Bathurst, you will notice that there is more shower activity, slowly encroaching out of the state oaf maine and the province of quebec. This is the leading edge of a weather system that is going to brings us rain and showers to the maritimes. Working its way from the west to the east. And the risk of thunder showers. And you can see the pressure around 1,000. Or just over a thousand and 20 mil bars. That's going to be falling. This is a low pressure system making its way out of southern ontario, moving to southern quebec. It triggered some severe thunderstorms today. Through parts of eastern ontario. Into areas of quebec. Accompanied by some tornado watches in some cases. Now the centre of the low is not coming directly to the maritimes but the weather fronts will be pushing across the region tomorrow. So taking a look at the timeline for cloud cover and precipitation moving through this evening and tonight, a chance of showers, northern, western areas of new brunswick, and other parts of the maritimes, increasingly cloudiness, and patchy fog and drizzle dropping. Early tuesday morning, first of the rain in western new brunswick, into southwestern areas of nova scotia. Note the brighter colours within that rain. There is a risk of thunder showers along with it, that risk of thunderstorms moving from the west of new brunswick and southwestern areas of nova scotia, early tuesday morning. Across new brunswick, across mainland nova scotia, as we head toward and through tuesday afternoon. A trailing band of rain coming across western areas of nova scotia, beginning early tuesday afternoon, that will head off towards the east. Heading into tuesday afternoon, tuesday evening. A risk of thunderstorms along with that. Any current thunderstorms with tomorrow, which of course lightning is dangerous at any time could come with down pours that could produce 40 millimetres. Otherwise out of this weather system we are likely to see 10 to 30 millimetres in the west of new brunswick, around the atlantic coastline of nova scotia, and the 2 to 10 millimetres for eastern new brunswick, prince edward island, and northern areas of mainland nova scotia, as well. Inverness county in cape breton. The wet weather comes with gusty southerly winds for tomorrow. 30 to 60 kilometres per hour. Up to 70 around parts of the atlantic coastline of nova scotia. Exposed areas of the coast line. The marsh area in the southeast of new brunswick, and for inverness county, northern inverness county in cape breton because of the typography of the highlands. With the increasing cloudiness today, the lows around 7 to 14°. Things get cooler for sydney and cape breton down to 4°. And high temperatures in the forecast for tomorrow, the weather moving in -- wet weather moving in and through. Dalhousie could be around 20. Let's look at the weather watcher for tonight. And tonight's weather watcher is paisley mclean, she sent us a drawing of being on the swings on a beautiful summer day. Paisley loves the weather watcher segment. So do we, paisley. If you would like to be a weather watcher, you can send it to us, or email me at kalin.mitchell@bell media.ca. >> Maria: time to introduce you to the maritimers marking milestones today. A 63rd anniversary in kingston ontario, congratulations, you too. Next up, it is a 64th anniversary for linda and david from nova scotia, congratulations. Awe, sweet smiles right there. A birthday now, 103 for lorraine smith from nova scotia, happiest of birthdays to you, and to everyone celebrating, congratulations.
