was magnificent. You told us a couple weeks ago, you've been looking forward to this. So we have to live up to your expectations. >> My expectations were met and exceeded with this one. I george miller, the director of all 5 mad max films dating back 45 years or so is a maestro when it comes to shooting action, like they used to say in the monster truck and you'll pay for the whole seat, but you'll only use the edge because you'll find yourself moving closer and closer to the edge of your seat to see what he does next. This is the origin story of the warrior furiosa played in fury road by shirley staring this time around. She's played by anya taylor. Joy. And it's a revenge fleck. You've got chris hemsworth in here as I did evil warlord named him an tests and I'm not going to tell you anything else about the story because I don't want to give anything away, but I can tell you that the action sequences here, which is really what you're blame your money down for when you go to see her dad max movie you're you're paying for that. They meet and exceed they are, we're not like the camera is restless, it just never stops moving. And you will find yourself in sober self reflection later on to think about the movie, wondering how did they do that? You will probably never, ever be able to figure it out as a while to make the ares pauper to your head. All right, well, this is interesting that you say this is somebody who watches movies for a living. The fact that the movie making process. >> Still has that ability. To make you talking such glowing terms, you would think at this point, perhaps we've seen everything. Yeah. And you know, sometimes I feel that way when they see something that isn't particularly well, tiger, I see something that is just a rehash and normally. >> By the time you get to the just film in the franchise, that's what you get are rehash isn't things that I think what's interesting about the mad max movies is that george miller not only created wrote, directed the very first one, but he's made all of them sense that it is his creative vision. It's cohesive, they feel like they all fit together like pieces of a puzzle. This is good start. >> Okay, so my next question is, do we need another? Garfield movie because we've got one hand hold your thought. Let's take a on that. >> Guy. >> Okay, grant it. I'm not the target market for this, but I ask again, what does the world need? Another garfield movie? >> Well, maybe or maybe not, I don't really know, depending on what how big a fan you are. But I'll tell you, you don't really get a garfield movie with us. So all the things that we know about garfield's from the comic strip, which is 10 very popular for 50 years now we know that garfield much to eat lasagna su does that in this town. We know that he likes to take frequent naps. He sleeps most of the day way is kind of started on, accuse extraordinarily lazy. And in this movie, they throw away all those other things. Our group emmylou sonia and they send of our wild action adventure. So really what you have here is a pretty generic action adventure movie for kids that happens to star. I character who you've seen quite often in other films are on the on the comic strips, but it's not really a garfield movie playing against type. I think they say. Yes, that's what it is last one is called and again, we'll take a look at a moment of it is called the hitman. >> Serious, I'm and serves nuisance. And each arrest was like a standing ovation. This is netflix. I remember a hitman movie from 15 years ago. So yeah, this one's better and this one to be in theatres this weekend. It will make its way to netflix this is glen powell, you know him from top gun maverick, lots of other things. He plays a boring guy. >> Who gets an opportunity to sit in awe and pretend that he's a hit man. I to entice one of our to assassinate a loved one or a business park or whatever it might be, but they reported and then they make arrests. That city is working with the place turns out is really, really good at it as well. So he makes loss of arrests the in traps, all sorts of people and tell one day when he meets this young woman who wants her husband killed. He falls in love with her and she might have more secrets than maybe she's letting on. >> This is smart, it's funny. It was my favourite movie at the toronto international film festival last year. And I'll tell you our star something at that for us to like never seen that movie before. There's one particularly great scene that

happens when three-quarters of the way into this film it's slapstick, it's really well written really well performed. It's just a little gem in the, in the blatchford this movie and it got a round of applause. You see that in comedy clubs, you don't see in a movie theatre story often. Okay. Man in theatres right now. Ok, so this couple good ones there. And if your car few up and there you go. But I really quickly got about 30 seconds left here. >> Cannes film festival is coming on. It was interesting to see what happens there. Kevin costner, big standing ovation, little teary at the reception he got for his next project. >> Yeah, I felt happy for him to get a big standing ovation because he's put 38 million dollars of his own money into this passion project wise and it's called it will be out later this summer. It's been broken up into 3 for parts by standing ovations for the name of the game there you have to try pretty hard not he will patient nothing against governor cost or what you have to try hard not okay, let's let's get to got. That's good to a nice round up this week. Lots to choose from a richard crouse. The pride of liverpool nova scotia grows. >> We'll talk to a couple of weeks. Thanks. Thanks, todd. My flight. >> More americans now use marijuana daily than alcohol. That's according to a new study data from 2022 shows 17.7 million americans reported using cannabis daily or near daily. >> Compared to 14.7 million daily drinkers. That's a big difference from 3 decades ago, when there were nearly 9 million people who reported

drinking daily compared to less than a million who reported smoking pot each day. Researchers concluded marijuana use now appears to be on a fundamentally different scale. It comes after changes in how we eat has been legalized in many places around the u.s.. The study was published in the journal addiction. New research shows weekly injections of semaglutide medications like ozempic cut the risk of severe outcomes from diabetic kidney disease by about a quarter, the severe outcomes include significant loss of kidney function, kidney failure and death from kidney or cardiovascular causes. The research found for those taking the weekly injections, kidney function declined more slowly overall than those getting a placebo. A new study shows prescriptions for weight loss drugs have skyrocketed 600% in the last 3 years. That's especially true for people between the ages of 12. And 25 in that group, prescriptions rose from 8700 a month in 2020 to more than 60,000 a month in 2023. The biggest jump was seen in young women and adolescent girls. Many of the weight loss drugs are primarily indicated for type 2 diabetes. It is worth noting the study can see exactly what condition the medications were written for for if the patients actually took them without the medical news. I'm amanda debison for the lifeline. >> Friday night on the scene with katie kelly and fulfilling myles goodwyn. Swish april wine continues with a new voice. Yes, todd. And tomorrow night, they'll perform here in the province where it all began. >> For the first time. >> April wine is a staple in canadian classic rock music and extra special to the maritimes. The original group formed in nova scotia 5 and a half decades ago. The current longest serving member brian greenway join back in 77 and says he knew he was about to be part of something special. And I remember seeing him for the first time in at left an impression because they're the only bad. >> That played a rich material that was really good. And that was jim david. Richie and miles. >> Founding member, the late myles goodwyn retired from touring with the band or le last year, but made it clear he wanted the group to continue voting for a new singer. Montreal-based musician mark tehran >> Grew up in ottawa was in a band in the 80's called 8 seconds. We had a canadian hit with focus on sting jurist. >> And so have you always been an april wine fans, the. >> Mark officially joins last spring. It's an it's been incredible. Absolutely. I mean, it's a dream come true. Started, we're seeing it. >> He had the ability to. Perfectly copy everything. The guitar work. And the vocals uncannily just like miles had, I couldn't. And both members say knowing this is what miles wanted is a blessing. >> That it's approved of and that's what he wanted is and we're fulfilling it. Yeah, it gives me a sense of responsibility too. Do my bring my a-game at every gig, get out of respect for what he's done. I see how the music touches everybody. So it makes me realize okay, you better do the best you can out of respect for, you know, legacy span and fans are giving it right back. >> Apprehension the front.
