Severe thunderstorms are on the way to the gta environment. Major funding gaps will be the main talking point. Toronto is facing billions of dollars in funding shortfalls in infrastructure, transit, parks and libraries. We cannot run a city of our size just on property taxes. We have to have revenue coming for a percentage of income tax. The percentage of sales tax. That's the way we get to a better city. We have no choice but to go to the province and to the federal government. We are limited in the revenue tools that we have here in the city of toronto. >> We're also not able to run an operating deficit. So it's important that we continue that advocacy and they're also welcome to grant us new revenue tools and the ability to to gather some more money ourselves. And councillors will also discuss a motion by brad bradford and jon burnside that would accelerate construction on the gardner. >> By lot of work to go on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They say that could shave a year off the timeline and saved the city a lot of money. The motion is expected to be tabled tomorrow. >> City staff are already doing not. They're looking into it right now and they are testing some of the equipment to see how noisy it is in the evenings to see if they can accelerate the work and how they can do that best. They're also consulting with industry experts. They are already employing people prefab occasion techniques of the materials. And I particularly want to highlight recommendation for a pilot program of enhanced multi-sectoral case management support for people living outdoors of those people who have complex mental and physical health needs and that this would be done in partnership with community serving and health care experts. >> The report will go before the city's economic community development committee.
