CITY24 - Saturday, May 25, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. (ET) - Segment #15

What for, you ask? A Triple-A-Steak at an unbeatable price. And that's The Legend of Chuck! Can I get you guys anything else? [Horse neighs in the distance] [Door opens] [Bell rings] [Footsteps approaching] ( ) (Text on screen) I'm so stoked to be here with CHUM's Morning Show host Jamar McNeil. Jamar, how are you? Teddy, what's good, man? Everything's good and everything's awesome, because, A, I get to talk to you, but, B, we are doing so in front of this. It is the grand prize in CHUM's Road Trip Challenge. It's a contest that's on until May 31st. It's so cool. How do people enter? Now until May 31st... Yeah. ...get on CHUM, listen to us between 7:00 and 5:00. Every single hour we're going to play a song. When you hear that Road Trip Challenge sound there, if you know the artist inong, give us a call. Call number 25 at 416-870-1045 gets entered to win this baby. Now, listen, we all love road trips. Teddy: Yeah. And, you know, that's what makes the road trip that much sweeter, the songs, right? Teddy: Oh, yeah! So that's why the song is so important. We want to know that you're ready for a road trip, and this vehicle is one of the best vehicles to take a road trip in, this Nissan Rogue. Yeah. Yo, it's so smooth. It has, like, every feature, great features, a nice big screen. It sits really nicely. It drives great. Yeah. The steering's like butter, man. It just turns really like on a dime. Oh, like butter? Yeah, like butter. But it's just a really great vehicle. We've done on this vehicle in the past, and we're back with them again, thanks to our friends at The Power of 4. But you've got to take a chance at this, man, because I know CHUM people are music people. Yeah, CHUM people are definitely music people. This is a cool vehicle. It can even make me look cool, which is a Herculean feat. Bro! How's it going so far? Are people guessing artists or... Well, you know what, right now everyone's calling, because once they hear the song, you know, well, once-- Like I said, CHUM people are music people. It's like, "Oh, I know it, I know it!" So the real challenge is getting through, and if you can get through and be call number 25, with that artist who you definitely know when we play these songs, then you're in to win. Teddy: I love it. And, you know, your show is an institution here in the GTA, in Canada, You and Marilyn Denis, you're so great together. We love listening. What's it like for you to do the show every day? Well, let me tell you something. It's just fun. Coming to CHUM, hearing that I'd been doing this show with Marilyn, I mean, it was just fun, fun, fun, from before I got here, and the fun has continued. And speaking of the fun, one of Marilyn's favourite things to do is take road trips. Teddy: Cool! She's, like, such a road trip person. Teddy: Yeah? She wants to get into a car, and she wants to cross borders, traverse the country. So this contest speaks to everything. I'm a music guy. She's a road-trip woman. This is all wrapped into one big package with CHUM's Road Trip Challenge. I love that. You're both very well travelled, so you speak with authority on it. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I love that. And I hear as well, for the grand prize winner, not only do they get this, but you're going to personally deliver it to the winner on June 4th? That's the part of it. So, like, you know, imagine waking up one morning and coming outside, and CHUM television cameras and your boy Jamar are outside. I'll be like, "Hey, you got a new ride to work this morning." That's how it happens. We drop the car off to your house the morning of the contest. Jamar, thanks a lot. It's so good to see you, my friend. Anytime. It's always a pleasure. And you can enter for your chance to win. You've just got to listen to CHUM 104.5 every day for your shot at this. Yeah, 11 times to win, from 7:00 in the morning to 5:00 p.m., all day. Get in. And I can't enter to win though, right? You can't, but guess what? I'll give you a ride. You can ride shotgun. Yes, I get to ride shotgun! Amazing. Nice to talk to Jamar, and nice to get the deets on that, so you know how you can enter. Go for it. And I-- Years ago, I did a thing for Discovery Channel with Nissan, focused on that kind of car on the road. And it's good? You like it? Yeah! I actually got to drive it around a lot of the country. True story, and it's good. Yeah, it's awesome. That's great. It handles great Is that what driving people do? Is that how you drive your-- When you see someone driving like-- it's Teddy. Don't drive like that but do enter the contest! There you go. All right, thanks for joining us today on Things to Know T.O. We're very glad you're with us. If you missed us, you can find all of our episodes up on our website: ThingstoKnowTO.ca. And please follow us on all things "sosh meed," as Teddy likes to say, at @ThingstoKnowTO.
