Cp24 courtney heels is at a school near dufferin and finch and joins us live with the latest reaction. Courtney. >> And we know there were a lot of people at this gathering first thing this morning. The idea behind this was to show the students and staff at this elementary jewish school behind me they are standing by and their support of, of this community during a difficult time. They say, you know what happened this weekend, summering someone a shooting toward the school terrifying, but they want to show people that they will continue to go forward and they won't stand by and witness the hate. We heard from a number of people. The mayor was here, she made some brief the chief of police here talking to some of the staff members. But we also talked to a lot of will let you hear from one mother who has children here at the school. Here's what she had to say about the turnout this morning. Standing strong. >> We know that they're trying to scare us shies away from our values and who we are, but we're standing strong. We have the support of the community and we trust that you know they're going on behind us strong, we can do it together. >> It was around 5 in the morning on saturday that police were called to the school in north york over reports of shots fired at the emergency crews confirmed that there was evidence of gunfire. And we also heard that from some of the staff here, including the principal. I talked to him briefly, he told me that they have surveillance video of what happened in that video. He says you can see a person or people parks across the street from the they go over to the fencing is actually fencing up around this private school. Leena and then they fired the gun toward the school. And you can actually see behind me the window of boarded up here. This is where the bullets, when so obviously people very, very upset about what happened this weekend. But again, the idea from this morning was just to show solidarity to show people that they will continue to live their lives and go forward. That was the deadline for at least as you basically been defined by protesters here. The university has been asking them to dismantle this encampment. But as you can see, even despite all this rain is in full force. It does not seem as though any movement to leave. And protesters have been telling us they're not going to leave until the university meets their demands. So now this is where we're at. The university has filed for an injunction. And so we're waiting for a court hearing, we're being told that it could take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours for a court hearing to be scheduled. Some of the protesters has been telling us that a court hearing will be tomorrow, but we have yet to confirmed. But at this point, that is really what we've been waiting just to hear if there's any movement on that front. We do know there was a rally this by protesters and members other groups and unions even came out to show support for the people of palestine, but also for the people in this encampment. Hundreds of people, there are lots of energy despite the weather and we're speaking with people there about why it was important to come out and show their solidarity.
