warlord dementia, says henchmen furiosa vows vengeance for the death of her mother when she's caught between 2 tyrants vying for supremacy. She finds herself in a battle to make her way. Home film critic richard crouse says it's a wild ride. >> Nobody shoots action seems quite the same way that george is able to. They are for nader. The camera is in constant motion near exciting. It's like those old monster truck ads that say you'll pay for the whole seat, but you'll only use the edge as you slowly work your way up to the front of the seat because this movie is so visually engrossing. There's action scene here called the stowaway secrets took 78 days to shoot and that will make the pop out of their sockets. I gave it 4 out of 5 it's really quite something to see it as large loud as he possibly can. >> I realize not everyone fantasized about the same hit man. Every staying operation was a performance. That funny with the slots to kind of edge to it. That pervades all the way through the entire show. Again, just 4, to 5 stars is called hitman and it's in theatres right now. It's really worth the walk. >> B another reboot of garfield is hitting theatres. This weekend. I don't think the kids will buy do that much. It's a lot of fun if you're term or 11 years old, that's absolutely who. This movie is aimed at. They probably don't know who garfield is anyway, so they don't care he doesn't sleep all day and that he doesn't insult best friend, od and all the other stuff that goes along with the comic strips. What this will be does is just deliver a big generic action movie. So I gave 3 out of 5 stars is starting its theatres right now. Turned 11 year-olds were probably like it. Parents may be a little less so. >> Know finally babes explores the complexities of female friendships and motherhood. It follows 2 best friends. Crown prosecutors say deadly shooting at a mississauga restaurant as a result of a plot from a group who had pledged allegiance to the terrorist group. Isis. 5 people were shot at chicken land near college way and glen erin drive in may, 2021 25 year old name acco was killed in the opening address in brampton this week. A crown attorney, david dr diorio said that tackle was planning to turn others in the group. He was turned others in the group in it to authorities. So the side to kill him and his family. And I'm not reza cosh about see are all charged with one count of murder and 5 counts of attempted murder. The charges have been proven in court testimony continued today, of course, keep it here, cp24 as we continue to follow this developing news. Well, this is also developing pro-palestinian protesters at the encampment on the universe. Toronto campus downtown responding right now. The school's off everyone. My name erin mackey. I am a fourth-year undergraduate student here at here at the university of toronto >> And I mean the offering some brief updates. I know I spoke with lots of your earlier and so. >> Received notice today at 4:00pm u of t would be issuing a trespassing notice to us. If we do not respond to their offer, which we discussed earlier today, we sent them a follow-up email and they've agreed to a meeting at 5:00pm on sunday to continue negotiations, which we look forward to again, we were given a first offered they viewed as a final offer. But really, it's the first offered the first time that we've seen this in writing. And so there's lots more room for and lots more to do on that front. So will be meeting with the administration, not president curler, but other members of the initiation at 5:00pm on sunday. However, despite this and despite agreeing to this meeting, I u of t is still moving forward with their trespass notice. As of so it's 4:00pm right now for 2. So we are expecting that to be issued shortly. You know, we

will still be here. We are here will continue to be here and we've got divestment until we get disclosure. And until the university toronto cut and yeah, we are later this evening having service at 7.45 through. Welcome to join us for but really, that's all the update to have current moment again. You know, we have the meeting at sunday at 5:00pm and you know, the university, despite that is still issue a trespass again, ut administration and toronto police, trump has confirmed that they they will only come if the administration calls them, so they will be showing up later today. But whether or not, you know, there's a full array encampment or any sort escalation is really in the hands of the ut administration at this point. Look at fight. You're going to ignore the uk's request for all the to vacate this location. >> I think all ultimately, you know, that the offer that they put forward really is the first offer. It's a first and you know, we look forward to further negotiations and you know, it's a bit disheartening that despite agreeing to the and continue negotiations, this administration is still going forward with a trespass notice. But we're here will continue to be here and will continue to mandate of so far. No, you're not leaving. I as of right now, I mean, it's 4:00 right now. No one's talking up their I will be here later this afternoon for shabbat service at 7:45am. And you know, we have lots of programming planned for tomorrow. So yeah, we're here, I will continue to be here to demand so did you have to say that even if you stay here over the weekend, that you're still here on sunday, they'll still be with you 5:00pm. Despite the trust has now so adam, in email that I just received about add 10 for at press conference here, this confirmed with us that they're meeting with us at but that they're moving forward. The trespass and that's where we're at right you know, this trespass notice is the first of a much longer you know, these types of things, you know, they issue that trespass notice. And then you know, that starts to get the wheels turning, but doesn't mean immediately. And the next you know, for 5 minutes that hundreds of cops are going to show up. There's lots of room between now and then. And we implore the administration to the right thing to be on the right side of history to divest from israeli apartheid. These ongoing. I have any more details on what the notice looks like. Like is there a time frame as to when get the tickets when you have to vacate? Yeah, it's 44 pm right now, it's for it. We were told it would we would receive it at it was not, but here yet. So we anticipate it's a common the next, you know, 5.10, minutes or so. We'll be sure to have everyone if you want take a picture of it. I'm sure. But as of right that's where we're what do you hope to accomplish in sunday's meeting? What are you looking to get for your site? So we're looking for the university of toronto make commitments towards minute. And we're talking lots about committees, lots about processes and procedures that the this institution has in place that ultimately are not good enough. Right? Ed, there's lots of, you know, obstacles in our path. One of them being the committee you know, the administration has not agreed to allow us to appoint people this committee. We can make recommendations under the current proposal, but those recommendations need to be approved by the president. So he has final say. And then ultimately, even if the committee did agree to disclosure and to divestment, president gertler could come down and say no as he did with fossil fuels in 2016. So that's where yeah, we will have having this notice shortly. I think that's where of the organizers from the pro-palestinian encampment university of toronto's downtown campus. They've been there for weeks now. >> They said that the will be continuing with issuing their trespass notice that 4:00 today, it is now 405 as they mentioned, it looks like there are camera some point paying attention to something potentially that is the trespass notice. But sure our steve ryan was there at the scene. And we do understand that the organizer did say that it was a hard no, that they will be basically ignoring that trespassing notice and they are going to be staying put. They have multiple scheduled for today and they also say that they have just planned a meeting with this cool again at 5:00pm on sunday and is still looking for commitment from the university to divest from investments tied to israel. And also cutting ties with israeli universities, particularly and occupied territories. And those are supporting the the school has already said they will not be divesting from israeli universities. But again, back to this trespassing and notice should be handed out at some point next couple of minutes. The organizers said to our steve ryan, our crime analyst was there at the scene said it is a hard know that they will be basically ignoring that trespassing notice. And that really comments when asked today still feel that the school will meet them at 5:00 on sunday. If they stay put. Of course, as I mentioned, see right there at the scene. And if there's any developments on that will go to him. In the meantime, toronto police have identified a man charged in a homicide investigation. 65

year-old kendrick out rampant of toronto was charged with second-degree murder following an incident that took place on may. 16th in the eglinton avenue east and birchmount road area. Well, help the community groups of all they're expressing concern about the increase access to alcohol and the lack of measures in place to address the harms that can go along with it. Premier ford was asked about that this morning. >> We take this very seriously. We put more money into mental health and addiction than any government in the history of this country, in the history of this province. And we're doing a fairly well without and it's going to be a we're going to continue working with people that need help and support. Not a mention on on the health care too. So they should be able to have that easy axes. Going gets from the communes a fantastic makes it easy for everybody. His announcement underscores our commitment to responsible beer distribution and environmental stewardship. As you mentioned, not everyone in support of this expansion. Doctor leslie buckley is the head of addictions at camh. She joined us earlier today and said there has to be many safeguards and need to be in place to reduce harms. >> It really all comes down to accessibility. So there's multiple studies that show that the single most important lever that impacts the amount of alcohol consumed by a society is accessibility. And what we mean by that, we mean price. So the minimum price plus taxes. So the higher the price, the less consumed the hours of availability and the retail density. So you know, all those things are increasing at this point. And we know that that will have an impact in terms of consumption of alcohol. >> Earlier this month, a coalition of health organizations, including the canadian cancer society, the canadian mental health association and camh released a letter calling for a comprehensive strategy to deal with increased alcohol consumption. That will come with this change. It says harms linked to drinking cost the province more than 7 billion dollars a year. Addictions minister ya'ara saks says that the proposal didn't include age restrictions or limit the amount of drugs a person could have. She says that the planned left her with deep concerns. The minister says that she decided tonight after toronto refused to change the proposal to address concerns from her department. The application sought to decriminalize possession of all controlled drugs and substances for personal use. Premier ford was asked about the federal government's decision to deny toronto's request. And here's what he said. >> Its an absolute nightmare. The disaster folks imagine decriminalizing drugs like heroin, fenton, all cocaine. We saw what happened in bc. We saw what is happening in the U.S. they're all reversing a. And it was a big mistake. They bc. I'm I'm, I'm so proud of premier eby. Saying that

they're going to do it anymore.
