by-election. It's 10 o'clock 18 degrees from 299 queen street west. This is toronto's breaking news cp24. Good morning. I'm bakari savage. The university of toronto has given pro-palestinian protesters 24 hours to consider its latest offer and is asking that they leave the encampment right we will be actually checking in with steve ryan, too. Get more details on this story. Steve. Good morning. >> Machar, good morning. So we at university of toronto downtown campus at king's college circle. You can see the encampment that we have been reporting on a sense this was set up back on may the second and he's a pro-palestinian. Demonstrators are both students of the school and there are some outsiders as well and sense this encampment started, they have been pretty consistent in their demands to the university of toronto. And they are basically number one now that the school disclose its relationship with israel. And number 2, that the school divest any business ties with israeli companies. And there has been talk back and forth between the school and the demonstrators. Here are the latest meeting was yesterday at yesterday's meeting, the school offered the students an opportunity to be at the table when it comes to any future investments. With the school's but there was a caveat to that and that caviar being that the students had to vacate this encampment and demonstrators, that's both that represented the demonstrators yesterday are happy with those demand. So they are going hold a press conference at 11 o'clock that we cover to see what their response will be. But the school has said in a statement that was released just before 4:00pm yesterday that the people here in this encampment have 24 hours to vacate. Now, what does that mean after the 24 period will if this is, in fact, accurate in the school is means what they are saying. Well, then all of people that are in this encampment are now deemed to be trespassing. So law enforcement, the toronto police or the campus security officers were special constables kenwright provincial offences tickets charging each of these people with trespassing. That could be $1000 fine. There's also an arrest authority in the trespass to property act, not suggesting this is going to happen. But if somebody is served with a ticket saying that you are trespassing and you don't leave that premise, you can be arrested taken to a police station released on another document were by you'd have to attend court or somebody had to tencor on your behalf. You could face a $10,000 fight. We do when that 24 period is going to expire. We do know that the statement was sent out yesterday at 4:00pm. So is at 4:00pm today when this expiry happens, we'll have to see will be for that. We'll see what happens with regards to is going to be any enforcement done as far as the law goes with trespassing charges or are these demonstrators going to vacate? This promise has requested a setback. Okay. Watching the countdown to that deadline to be 24 steve ryan live at the university of toronto campus. Thanks >> With that, it is now 10:03. 18 degrees. Let's get a check on traffic with lisa lisa, good morning. Good morning to you, bakari. It's been a little bit of a troublesome for planning troubles at a brampton this morning, but it's looking a little bit better. It looks as though just waiting for the final confirmation. But I'm seeing a lot more traffic getting by sell for 10 was shut down from williams parkway through this queen stretch. But you can see volume is filtering through the earlier collision involving a rollover is clear from seeing some vehicles off to the left side here. You might still win you some alternate like bramalea dixie or even mainstreet get back on it steals eastbound 401 pretty busy for 27 in sections out through the 400 it does of reduce in lanes through dixon, martin grove. And that's a lot of the reason why we see these delays. A slow-moving road crew north of valley park, where they're heading towards don mills now in the right lane. Another slow-moving crew east 409 heading towards the 401 right now in the 2 left lanes. So expect delays. Korea back to thanks a lot. You welcome. And heads up for ttc riders that there's going to be a subway closure to keep in mind this weekend. There will be no service line 2 between woodbine and kennedy stations on saturday and sunday. Crews are going to be doing track work. >> Shuttle buses will be running regular subway service is scheduled to resume on monday.
