From global one, I'm shane blakely. >> Kevin: thank you, shane. The term “natural wine” has become common with wine bars, restaurants, wine shops and younger wine consumers in particular. The perception is that these wines are better made and better for you. But is that actually the case, and more importantly, what exactly are “natural wines?”. Gurvinder is joining us from new york city to help shed some light on an often controversial and divisive topic. -- gurvinder, you are currently in new york city and you were in italy several weeks ago. Tell us what you've been doing on your travels? >> Gurvinder: good morning kevin. In italy, I was seeing the wine award that it's become one of the premiers one competition and a component to that deals with unnatural and I will put that in quotation marks. Not being able to get a good

place in new york and that would be the all included support. >> Kevin: what exactly is a natural white and wise there so much confusion about it? >> Gurvinder: yes, there's a lot of misconceptions about it not have to run the standard of the natural wine and consumers and the industry I'm talking about and there is a perception that winds are better weighted at are for you and that's not necessary for you. It's needed for the distinction between natural wine and wine made naturally. And often when people talk about natural wine, they talk about a concept where there would be the absence of human intervention and wine production and that's really a false pretense because every step in the process of wine production is that it's a decision well made by human cell when we talk about minimal intervention, we talk about things like organic farming, regenerative farming, sustainability and giving more back to the land then taking from it and reflecting what it's like in the bottle versus manipulating the wind that treats us a certain way or having a heavy hand in this so it's more about the wine then in the great variety. But it's important-- that the wine still needs to be clean. And I don't mean sterile, I mean, not oxidized and not infected by bacteria-- and not exceptionally volatile and in those things,. >> Kevin: so you spent a lot of time around the world in different cities -- you spend a significant amount of time in cities around the world. How would you characterize the “natural wine” culture in edmonton? >> Gurvinder: you know I think in edmonton, it's involving is not the industry and when I talk with industry, I mean, restaurants, wine stores, importers of wine bars and again-- there are some notable exceptions because I hope I don't get in trouble when I say this but I think we are relatively low were mine thank wine iq in edmonton then most places because the lack of experience and a lack of really willing to make that effort to learn where the trendy bag wagons are in as a result, there is lot of fault in wine being served to consumers. And when you look at some of the wine bars and restaurants in edmonton that favour only the natural wine, the prom becomes that a lot of the wine we are serving and when we have kids serving cool wind to the young people who think these are the places they should be going and these are the young people in edmonton being exposed on their being exposed to faulty winds and they think this is what they should be drinking. And as a result, the consumer is actually getting exposed to a lot of not well-made wines and in summary, it's actually a crowd of young people who are just starting to really get into wine. I think that's one of the reason why overall there is a decrease in wine consumption. And the thing is there such good quality winds out there. Like natural wines that it's important we make those distinctions from wine that is well-made and those that are not and I think in edmonton, we are still evolving and maturing in terms of the natural wine culture and I seen it around the world where it takes time and we are just a little bit behind the rest of the world I think into the evolution of this culture and I think the industry really takes the lead and ensures that they are serving quality of natural wine for the consumer so they're actually taking what these winds are supposed to be. >> Lisa: thanks so much. >> Kevin: thanks so much gurvinder have a fun time in new york. What can you tell us? >> Shane: soon as we are done last time, we saw the smoke that was down in beaumont, lots of smoke filling the air. Lots of white smoke here as they are dousing some flames here at 96th street just by 116th avenue. Looks like a street or garage sure to end up catching fire and lots of fire crews are responding and quickly getting this under control when doused before, spreading tiny structures around here but certainly a lot of activity up in the north end of the city. Get your diy on during the get ready for summer sale at home hardware. With deals on paint and power tools, only until june 5th. From global one, I'm shane blakely. ( ) >> Lisa: it feels like yesterday turned out to be even harder in some areas than what's expected and I went by the kinsman area since I was running by the spray park was open. But there was one kid there and I thought why aren't they taking advantage and it's hot out? >> Kevin: it's hot out and if you got your car in the middle daft or nude and it was really warm and really hot but with the wind died down, you could get any sort of chill coming in the air but it was quite nice. >> Lisa: sure there was pockets of chilliness but not really. >> Kevin: kind of what we see right now is what we will get in a few brighter spots here and there. But I think we will see a fair bit of cloud cover and showers and possibly some thundershowers as we head into the later part of the afternoon. 11 degrees right now downtown edmonton with northwest wins at 5 kilometres per hour. Lots of cloud cover and showers in and around the city right now and that could turn into some thundershowers as we head into the later part of the day and afternoon so looking at temperatures across the country for today and 12 degrees in vancouver and 18 degrees in vernon and into regina at 19 in saskatoon at 19 degrees as well for today in winnipeg at 19 degrees and a little bit of sunshine in they're moving into northern ontario and very slowly and boy, it's moving today. Thunder bay at 50 degrees and timmons at 24 in montreal at 24 and 24 degrees in ottawa 19 degrees in toronto with partly cloudy skies today and into the maritime 17 and fredericton in 12 degrees in cape breton and windy and 7 degrees in st. John for today. Satellite and radar pictures with lots of activities around many places of the province especially central zone in the province-- calgary, edmonton right down shower activities around us right now on top of us. Shane sitting at where he has, and we are seeing a lot of it in the city. Some of the areas in the city not seeing it right now is the chance goes on and moving up through slave lake and showers moving up towards the fort mcmurray region as well. In the southern part of the province and moving west of red deer and that's moving southeasterly. Not anything right around calgary right now but certainly moving into lethbridge into the medicine hat region we are seeing some precipitation in there. As we get through the day today in edmonton in our city that black slot right there and could see the showers coming and going through the city and a bit of a clearing as we head into that we hours of the morning and everything clears off moves off to the north and back into some pretty nice conditions and really nice temperatures as we head into this last week of the
