An ipsos poll done exclusively for global news finds nearly 58-per cent people are looking forward to the world's biggest sporting event. This is a significant increase since 20-20 tokyo summer olympics which piqued the interest of 33-per cent canadians. While 85-per cent of people surveyed said canadian participation in the games will make them proud.... Four in ten believed olympics are not worth the hype. Shortly before one yesterday afternoon... Alberta health services issued a boil water advisory until further notice. The water was turned back on before 4 p-m... But the boil water advisory remains in place. The town of millet is under a boil water advisory following a water main break. A town employee says they were made aware of the issue thursday night... With a notice posted on the town's website... Advising the water would be shut off friday for repairs. Massive growth in enrollment is making it a lot harder for edmonton public schools to balance the books. Trustees passed a budget for next school year. And as jasmine king reports... They're asking the province for more support. >>reporter: edmonton public school trustees have passed next school year's budget - but it's one they're calling "tragic - and constrained".... >> We are asking our division staff to kind of be magicians and try and make things work when its clearly quite difficult to do so. >> It was a unanimous vote but not a quiet one.. Trustees expressed their frustration with the lack of funding they're seeing from the province... >> I heard some of my colleagues say that we have work to do. No no no my friends, we do not have work to do the province has work to do with meeting with us and coming up with solutions. >> Reporter: the board says it's teaching 6000 more students than it was last year. That's up 5%. And the provincial funding formula doesn't keep up with that kind

of rapid growth. The province will pay for only 2000 of those students. >> We had 5 years now to explore this new funding formula, it's time to do something different. >> Reporter: in a statement to global news, the education minister says they are stepping up and investing more in education...including 1 point 2 billion over the next 3 years. Epsb estimates their revenue for the next school year to be 1 point 35 billion dollars... Which is an increase of 65 million from last year... But with growing costs - it's not much of a boost. >> Our ability to absorb these unknowns with our operating surplus is getting very limited. So with that dwindling balance, it really removes our ability to be able to whether the storm. >> Reporter: because the board is using reserve money, parents and students shouldn't see much of a difference in service but the board says it's quickly depleting reserves. >> Next year at this time if there isn't some change to the way we are funded. We're looking at not being able to cover everything that we need to out of our operating reserve. Jasmine kane, global news. King. >>lisa: residents of fort nelson could soon return home - as the fire fight continues to improve in b-c's northeast. Fire crews say theyre wrapping up - focusing now on hot spots close to the community - and mopping up along the "alaska highway corridor". 47 -hundred residents were forced to evacuate on may 10th as the "parker lake wildfire" burned kilometers from the town. 10 properties - including four homes - have been destroyed. Premier david eby says an assessment of those structures is underway. >>there was a period of time there where the entire town of fort neslon could have burnt down and fort nelson first nation but for the efforts of our amazing fire crews, and were not oft of the woods its a long fire season ahead, but it could have been a lot worse."> >>lisa: no specific date has been set for residents to return home -- but the town's mayor is hoping for early next week. If your summer plans include visiting the lake louise area... Expect delays. (**vo**) construction work is underway to improve the main road into the popular destination. Work started this week... And will last throughout the summer... The busiest time of the year. Officials say over one million vehicles travel the main road each year. Parks canada says shuttles and public transit are the best option to visit the area an edmonton teen suffered a spinal cord injury in a car accident last summer that changed his life forever. But now -- a new wheelchair is restoring some of the freedom he once had. (**vo**) [note: fr raw all terrain wheelchair ] tanner leslie lost his ability to walk in an instant.
