is where I'm going. And it was just meant to be. It is delicious, and I actuallygave the driver of the car one. I was just handing out cinnamonbuns for the rest of the day. Well, you madeeverybody's day, clearly. ROSS: And let me tell you something, These. Are delicious. The frosting is to die for. Everything, the cinnamon. DREW: I know. I feel bad. Hello. DREW: Hi! [cheers, applause] ROSS: Congratulations on everything. DREW: I love that you metat a new moms support group, because I felt so like Iwas living on another planet when I had my first daughter, and I'm not sure you ever move away from that planet. There might be a part of that'sforever changed and can never get back, but I just so identify with wanting to connect with peoplewho understand new planet living, a.k.a, I guess, being a new mom. CATHERINE: Yeah, yeah. So we met, and it was justfrom a place of loneliness. We needed to find each other because it is. It's hard to navigate. And one day, I just raised my hand and was like, this is great, but does anyonewant to get a glass of wine? And Kristin was like-- Yeah. We can be friends. And then, as our babies grew older, we realized we needed a placethat was for us, not a bar, not just a coffee shop, and that's how our business started to develop. ROSS: And it's a businesseverybody is talking about. We are getting to enjoy this now, and I hear you have some big news as well. We sure do. We've been baking up these cinnamon rolls in our shop for the last two years, and we are going to startshipping them nationwide. ROSS: [gasps] DREW: Really? You don't have to wait. There was a line for me when we were filming. I was going to say, I heardpeople were trying to get in when you were filming. So now you don't have tobrave the weather outside. You can just order them directly to your home. DREW: Well, thank you to BlakeLively and your 50 million plus followers, and spreading the good word, but also a testament to finding community. It's kind of what we've beentalking about through the show, that we want to feel a part of something. We want to be with peoplethat make us feel alive, and like our dreamscan come true, or we can talk aboutthe hard stuff with. But partnership is whereeverything comes alive, and I commend you bothon growing your business, and I'm so glad youfound each other, and now everybody getsto be the beneficiary of that relationship. [applause] And now you can get it shipped to you! Well, we're going to ship thisshow to you because we make it for you, just like these beautiful cinnamon buns from The Hive. But first, tourism operators in nova scotia are hoping for another comeback summer season for years after the initial impacts of the pandemic, they're optimistic that the business recovery will continue. Skye-bryden-blom reports. >> You have to come and see nova scotia, every part of it, every little nook and cranny. >> That's exactly the kind of enthusiasm tourism operators are hoping to see this season. Ambassadors offers land and water tours across the atlantic provinces, and says 2024 is an important comeback year following the pandemic. >> We saw in 2023 that visitation to the province was about 6% shy of where it was in 2019, pre-pandemic levels. We're really optimistic that 2024 will return to pre-pandemic levels, he says. >> The numbers are encouraging, with about 400,000 passengers currently expected. >> We're seeing advance sales, you know, year to date, about 12% over last year, and so that's really encouraging. >> Meantime, the owner of the sou'wester at peggys cove says business has been good since pandemic restrictions ended. He says the pandemic had a significant impact on the hospitality sector. >> But since the pandemic got over, for us here, it's been two of the best years we've ever had. >> Campbell is hopeful that growth continues. Meantime a nova scotia park spokesperson says bookings are down about 22% compared to last year, although some campsites are currently closed. >> The reservations opened in april. There's been over 21,000 reservations made for this year, and this time last year we had over 26,000. >> At this time, she says, a positive sign is visitors from europe, canada and the U.S. are booking. Police say they received a report of sexual assault at pence elementary school involving a male employee and a child last october. Rcmp say three more victims have come forward. More charges are anticipated and anyone with information is asked to contact the lunenburg rcmp. Halifax transit users can expect bus route detours and bus bay relocations this summer. As we reported yesterday, it's all part of the construction for the cogswell district project beginning next month. A portion of barrington street is set to undergo a long term closure, affecting 30 bus routes and four bus bays. The project will see a new halifax transit hub expected to open early next year. And while the transit union acknowledges the eventual benefits of the project, they say the process will be challenging for traffic. >> It's going to be disruptive, of course, it's also going to depend if commuters with their own vehicles are going to be avoiding that area, with the detours in place because of the closure, we're we're expecting a congestion, but like I said, you can't predict that until it happens, and it will be ongoing for several months. >> The president says the biggest concern for transit drivers is scheduled delays, and says they hope to get more details sooner rather than later . Prime minister justin trudeau was in truro today to highlight the universal coverage of a of various contraception and diabetes medications, highlighting items from the budget 2024, he announced that the federal government is launching the first phase of a national pharmacare plan with $1.5 billion in federal funding under the plan, medications and devices including insulin birth control pills and iuds will be free for canadians. The president of the nova scotia

nurses union, janet hazelton, says coverage for contraception and diabetes is crucial for those without a drug plan. >> We see far too many patients come to us leaving our emergency departments or leaving their family doctors or nurse practitioners with prescriptions for medication to treat their diabetes, whether it's insulin or oral medication, only to know that they are not getting that prescription filled because they can't afford it. These patients inevitably land back in the system, requiring more intensive health care like an amputation, hazelton says. >> Nurses across the country hope to see more medications covered by the federal pharmacare program. Turning now to a ribbon cutting ceremony that was held last night to unveil the new name of qe2's heart disease clinic, it honors a 16 year old hockey player who lost his life to an undiagnosed heart condition. As megan king reports, the family's efforts to raise awareness about heart health over the years are leading to life saving changes, all while keeping his memory alive. Family and friends joined health providers to unveil the newly named jordan boyd inherited heart disease clinic at the qe2 health sciences center. The event honored the 16 year old bedford hockey player, who lost his life to an undiagnosed inherited heart condition on what would have been his 27th birthday. >> To have other patients there and, you know, look up and see his name there and see all the other patients that are being, you know, looked at by the amazing team that's here. I think that's something that will really hit home in a way that I don't think I'm maybe ready for yet, but I think it'll be an emotional moment. But it'll be something I'll be very proud of. >> The boyd family has been raising awareness for heart health and making life saving tools available to the public since jordan's passing in 2013. This moment, a culmination of over a decade of work towards keeping jordan's memory alive through a legacy of helping others. When we started on this journey ten years ago, this was never the game plan, so to speak. >> We just wanted to remember jordan. You know, jordan, I think, would be very humbled and proud to see this. This family has done so much, to honor their son, and for the community and for our clinic and is fantastic to honor him this way. >> To date, the boyd family has raised $1.2 million towards funding inherited heart disease research. They've come a long way in moving the needle on awareness around the importance of cpr and making automated external defibrillators accessible in public spaces. I don't think you can be understated. >> The impact that the boyd family has had on heart safe communities throughout nova scotia, the goal here is, is really to change that culture and get aeds from, you know, locked cabinets or inside offices to more public locations. And that's exactly what they've done. >> Described as a truly kind and caring person by his father and a funny, humble shoulder to cry on by his brother jordan boyd is now forever memorialized at this clinic. His family taking a tragedy and putting it towards a good cause. >> The fact that there's something here today that shows that he'll always be a part of the conversation is something that means so much to me. >> Megan-king "global news" halifax in berwick west, a 20 year old cyclist, has been seriously injured after a car crash late last night just after midnight, kings district rcmp responded to a vehicle cyclist collision on highway one. >> The cyclist from aylesford was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries. The long list of changes include revised zoning in areas near post-secondary institutions, and the modernization of bylaws to streamline the approval process for new developments. City councillors reflected on concerns raised by community members regarding issues such as affordability, green space and transit. >> Transit. Transit. Transit I think it's time for our transit system to get to the next level. Character of community is not defined by building, is defined by the people. And I think that was really, really important. >> The housing accelerator fund aims to help the hrm build more than 200,000 new housing units in the coming years.
