In calgary we are seeing gas selling from nearly $1.62 to as low as $1.42 depending on where you fill up. Energy and gas expert dan mcteague says there isn't really a clear explanation on why we are seeing such a range in prices. He says for a gas station to replace the cost of the fuel they are selling the prices would have to be around $1.44 a leader to break even and less the retail side of the business is doing very well. He says the prices are indicative of what we are seeing in markets across much of the U.S. midwest and western canada. Looking at the markets here for you now.

Union president darcy says the two sites remain divided on work from home issues. >> When we went into a strike vote the offer was 8 percent over three and we have ten and a half percent over three. That is the monetary concern at play. When we met yesterday the city offered to 9 percent over three and we are still a ways apart. >> Bindu: the city released a statement saying in part it's disappointed with the strike vote but couldn't discussions are continuing.
