In some cases, there's a 20-cent spread. >> In calgary, we see gas selling at nearly $1.62. Seeing prices as low as $1.42 depending on where you fill up. Energy and gas expert dan McTEAGUE says there's no clear explanation for why we are seeing a range in these prices. He says based on the gas they are selling, it should be around 1.44. >> Unless you have some kind of model that allows you to push greater volumes to get down to 1.32 or 1.34 requires, perhaps, the sale of a lot of other products in your store. A lot of beef jerky. And the dow is edging lower 90 points. 35973. And oil is trading higher 91 cents. 78.48. Natural gas higher 5 cents. 2.90. Gold down $22. 2393 an ounce and the canadian dollar up 19 basis points. 73.21 U.S. >> Dallas: we're seeing some bank earnings roll in. Let's start with td. >> Yeah, that's right, so bank season kicking off. Td reported here just this morning. It was a beat for the quarter for them. Earnings per share came in $2.04. Easily beating $1.85 analysts expected. It was a bit of a busy quarter for td. Made headlines as they were fined nearly $10 million for failure to disclose suspicious activities in transactions to the regulators. With you essentially skirted -- which essentially skirted anti-money laundering regulations, and that is an investigation that will continue on to the current quarter and saw the net income from capital markets doubling $441 million on higher trading and loan volumes. As well they reported that their loan/loss provisions moved higher to $1.07 billion. Canadians still struggling here to pay off the debt obligations under the current high interest rates, and td shares trading higher 30 cents in early trading here, dallas. >> Dallas: on the tech side, we get the latest earnings from nvidia. >> This is the big story for markets this morning, and nvidia reporting the q 1 results, and this comes after we heard from the likes of amazon, microsoft, google and meta that they all plan to spend more on the artificial intelligence development, and that is creating a boom here for nvidia who reported quarterly record of $26 billion on earnings per share on $6.12. Both easily beating analysts' expectations, and they saw sales rise 262% in the quarter just on the growing demand for the A.I. products. Nvidia also announced a bump to their cash dividend and a stock split of 10 to 1 shares that will take place next month. Now nvidia's shares are trading up 8.5% in early trading.
