And this year's survey by deloitte found that 74 percent plan to stay in canada clothes to their home region. 65 percent are planning a summer road trip. >> Canadians are intending to spend a bit more this year. They are still quite sensitive. But they do intend to get out there and spend money. >> Reporter: a familiar theme is the great outdoors, with many hoping to take in nature and local attractions. Canadians we'll spend just over $2400, but that's just for lodging, and transportation, 35 percent will not be travelling at all, because they can't afford it. >> Definitely there is a percentage of canadians that are not planning on travelling in a major way this year,. >> Reporter: another survey by kayak, a travel search engine found two of the top domestic destinations this summer will be calgary and edmonton.
