Christian McCaffrey sets internet on fire with photo of his crazy pumped-up physique

Christian McCaffrey isn’t skipping biceps day at the gym. Or any day. Or any hour.

The Carolina Panthers tweeted a photo of their star running back doing drills on Tuesday, which isn’t unusual for a team to do. But what stood out is McCaffrey looking like he could step out of the agility drill and into a bodybuilding competition.

Mental note: Don’t mess with Christian McCaffrey.

Christian McCaffrey not an undersized back, apparently

It’s not like anyone has ever questioned if McCaffrey is in shape, but there was a reason Tuesday’s photo got attention. He weighed 202 pounds at the combine and is listed at NFL.com at 205 pounds. He did just 10 bench press reps at the combine.

In his NFL.com post-combine draft report, it says he “lacks desired size of an every-down back.” Well that has changed.

Photos can be deceiving. Everyone spent an entire offseason freaking out over Eddie Lacy’s weight after one practice picture went viral a few years ago, though the consensus was that picture was just a bad angle.

McCaffrey probably won’t be complaining if the Panthers’ angle added 10 pounds (or more), because it appears to be all muscle.

It’s not like McCaffrey wasn’t ripped coming out of Stanford ...

He was a top-10 pick for the reason. He carried the Panthers’ offense on his back last season and never seemed to tire. He’s an elite athlete and has the physique to match.

But for those who haven’t taken a close look, Tuesday’s viral photo was a shocker. It’s a rare case of an athlete not minding when he’s trending on social media.
