Sigh of relief for Chris Smalling who was recently rumored to have suffered another injury.

The Englishman underwent tests yesterday after twisting his left knee following an aerial tackle in Saturday’s friendly against Toulouse.

The tests gave negative results, thus avoiding any type of injury for the former Manchester United player, who will thus be able to return to De Rossi’s disposal, writes Il Tempo.

Despite having been linked several times with an exit from the club, Smalling is about to enter his sixth season with the Giallorossi.

All signs are pointing towards the veteran centreback staying until the end of his contract.
