Chris Kreider Remains Out Of Lineup With Back Spasms

Peter Laviolette confirmed that Chris Kreider will not play in the New York Rangers Friday afternoon game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Kreider has missed the past two games with an upper-body injury and is listed as day-to-day.

The 33-year-old specified that he’s been dealing with back spasms, which is the reason for his absence from the lineup.

“Back locked up on me – Sacrum. Few games back it was lumbar,” Kreider said via Mollie Walker of The New York Post.

This all comes as Kreider’s name continues to be thrown around in trade rumors, putting his future with the Rangers in jeopardy.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers have made it very clear they are interested in making moves and shaking up their roster with Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba’s names being indicated specifically, although other options will be considered.
